Petrosyan Vs. Petchmorakot II, Angela Lee's Return Set For Malaysia

Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy andGiorgio “The Doctor” Petrosyan will meet again when ONE Championship returns to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

This ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix quarterfinal rematch will be the main event of the stacked ONE: MASTERS OF DESTINY card, which emanates from the Axiata Arena on Friday, 12 July.

The first meeting between these two men took place last month, and the bout ended with a close split decision in favor of Petchmorakot after two judges determined the Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion edged the two-time K-1 World MAX Champion with his unorthodox Muay Thai-based style.

However, following an official review of the match, the ONE Competition Committee overturned the decision.

The result was changed to a no contest, and an immediate rematch was sanctioned after officials determined that the bout was not officiated consistently under the kickboxing rule set.

A statement from ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong confirmed the judgment.

It means a spot in the next round of the tournament remains up for grabs for both men, who will compete once again under kickboxing rules in Kuala Lumpur.

The winner will move on to face“Smokin'” Jo Nattawut in the semifinals following his brilliant knockout of Sasha Moisa.

ONE: MASTERS OF DESTINY will also see the return of ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion “Unstoppable” Angela Lee, who will compete in Malaysia for the first time. Once again, she will move up a weight class and test her skills in the strawweight division.

The Singaporean superstar has drawn eight-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Michelle Nicolini, who will put Lee’s grappling skills to the test like no other opponent in her career.

Malaysian fans will also welcome some of their national heroes to the Axiata Arena on the undercard, including Ev “E.T.” Ting, Jihin “Shadowcat” Radzuan, Saiful “The Vampire” Merican, and Mohammed “Jordan Boy” Bin Mahmoud.
