Yet another World Title bout has been added to ONE Championship’s historic first show in Tokyo, Japan.

The ONE Bantamweight World Championship rubber match between Kevin “The Silencer” Belingon and Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes will take place at ONE: A NEW ERA at the Ryogoku Kokugikan on Sunday, 31 March.

The announcement was made by ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong on Sunday, 27 January.

As promised when I first announced the initial bouts for ONE: A New Era in December, I am excited to present the trilogy…

The contest follows on from two previous meetings between these athletes. The first was won by Brazil’s Fernandes via first-round submission in 2016 at ONE: DYNASTY OF CHAMPIONS, before the Philippines’ Belingon tied the series with a split decision win at ONE: HEART OF THE LION last November.

That victory by the Team Lakay representative ended his rival’s run as the most dominant World Champion in the history of The Home Of Martial Arts.

The announcement of this match-up brings the total number of World Title bouts at ONE: A NEW ERA up to four.
