Editorial Policy

Purpose & Mission

ONE Championship™ (ONE), the world’s largest martial arts organization, is committed to publishing accurate, timely, compelling, and responsible editorial content for its global fan base, athletes, media partners, broadcast partners, and the entire combat sports industry. The company’s website, onefc.com, serves as the digital home for all the latest news, feature stories, athlete profiles, photos, videos, and official announcements from the promotion.

Editorial Standards

The way we tell our stories matters just as much as the stories themselves. The following standards define our editorial work.

  • Accuracy: All factual claims – including records, World Title histories, gym affiliations, ages, event details, and timings – are verified before publication. We correct errors promptly and transparently.
  • Original language: Every article and story is written in our own words and voice. We never echo, reword, or mirror external source material. Drawing on our own previous coverage is acceptable, but each piece is freshly written rather than lifted from an earlier one.
  • Respectful and positive tone: Just like our core values, our coverage is humble, respectful, and celebratory of the martial arts and the athletes who practice them. We will never endorse hate or disrespect, and we avoid sensationalist, derogatory, or inflammatory language.
  • Responsible use of quotes: Quotes – from athletes, coaches, company representatives, or notable third parties – are always presented in context and never manipulated.
  • A truly global audience: As a combat sports property with viewership from over 195 countries, we never assume a reader is based in a single region. Therefore, we avoid hemisphere-specific references that wouldn’t make sense to a worldwide audience.
  • Promotional, never hard-sell: We build excitement honestly, letting the athletes and the action carry the story rather than pressuring the reader.

Sourcing & Verification

As the official source for our own events, results, and announcements, we hold our information to the highest standard. Anything that originates outside of the organization is verified before it is published.

  • We are the primary source: For ONE events, official results, announcements, and card changes, ONE is the authoritative source. We draw from our own records, officials, and operations rather than secondhand reporting.
  • Results are official: Fight outcomes, methods of victory, and any World Title implications come directly from the official result.
  • Quotes are captured firsthand: Original quotes come from our own interviews, media days, and official communications. We record them accurately and never alter their meaning, in line with our editorial standards.
  • External information is verified: Anything not originating with ONE – including non-ONE results, career achievements, and biographical details – is fact-checked against a reliable source.
  • Records are kept current: Win-loss records, finish counts, and World Title reigns are updated to reflect the latest verified results and reconciled across our platforms so the numbers match wherever they appear.

Corrections & Updates

We stand behind the accuracy of our content. However, we aren’t perfect, and we acknowledge there may be an occasional error. When something is wrong, we fix it.

  • Errors are corrected as soon as they’re found: Factual errors, outdated details, and broken elements are updated as soon as they come to our attention.
  • Changes are logged internally: Updates are tracked through our content management system, giving us a clear internal record of what changed and when. Significant corrections may also be noted within the article.
  • Content is kept current: Published stories may be updated over time to reflect fresh information so they remain accurate well after their original publish date.

Use of AI

We acknowledge the growing role of AI in the newsroom, but we are still human-first in everything we publish. AI may support our work, but it never replaces human judgment, writing, editing, and accountability.

  • AI supports the work, it doesn’t author it: Original content is conceived, written, and edited by our team. We may use AI tools to assist with tasks such as translation and research, but the voice, judgment, and final product remain ours.
  • AI-assisted translation is labeled: Our core languages are human-translated and reviewed by our editorial teams. Some additional languages are offered through custom AI translation, and these are clearly identified.

Bylines & Attribution

We stand behind our work and make clear who authored it. Articles and features carry the name of the journalist who wrote the content, while press releases are issued under the ONE Championship byline.

Images & Video

The visual content published on onefc.com is original and captured by ONE Championship’s own photographers and production teams. On rare occasions we may source an image elsewhere – and when we do, it is credited where possible.
