‘Never Been Afraid Of Anyone’ – Suriyanlek Ready To Give Ramadan Ondash A Wild Welcome To Flyweight Division At The Inner Circle
Suriyanlek Por Yenying has been in wars, survived knockdowns, and came back to finish opponents who thought they had him beaten.
Now, the Thai firecracker meets Lebanese teenage sensation Ramadan “The Scorpion” Ondash in a flyweight Muay Thai main event at The Inner Circle on Friday, May 29, streaming exclusively for members on live.onefc.com from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The fighter with an 86-31 professional record stands as one of the most experienced competitors in the weekly event series, built on relentless forward pressure and a never-back-down attitude that has defined every step of his career.
He is a fighter who keeps walking through adversity when lesser men would quit, and his most recent outing proved it once again. Facing Scottish star Gregor Thom in March, Suriyanlek was taken into deep waters from the opening bell.
He told onefc.com:
“Thom really surprised me in that last fight. I didn’t expect him to come in with such heavy low kicks. He chopped my right leg so hard that it was hurting right from the opening bell, and I even ended up dropping in round two.
“When I went back to my corner before the final round, Coach Moses told me, ‘You’ve got nothing to lose now. Go out there, leave it all in the ring, and just close the distance.’
“So, I bit down on my mouthpiece, moved forward, and went completely all-out until I managed to score a knockdown back and secure the win.”
That comeback victory was vintage Suriyanlek, a living embodiment of the mentality that has made him one of the most beloved fighters on the ONE Friday Fights circuit.
His mindset is forged not just by competition, but by those he cares most about.
The man who loves heavy metal said:
“Every time I step into that ring, I always tell myself that unless they put me completely to sleep, I am not going down. I’m always thinking about my family and the people back home who support me.”
Standing across from him is Ondash, a 19-year-old prodigy already holding a ONE contract that he earned through a sequence of explosive performances at ONE Friday Fights.
The teenage sensation is moving up from strawweight following his first professional defeat, stepping into a flyweight division with significantly heavier power and impact than anything he has previously experienced. Suriyanlek has taken note of the move, and he is not about to go easy on a newcomer to the weight class.
The braided brawler said:
“I was actually a bit surprised that he decided to move up to flyweight because he’s going to face much heavier impact and power here. Even though he’s dropped a lot of fighters before, I’ve been fighting at flyweight my entire career. I’m used to the power in this division, and I’m confident I can take his best shot.
“As for him, he’s about to get a proper welcome to the division with my signature ‘wild buffalo punch.’ Once it lands, we’ll see if he can take it. We’ll find out in the ring.”
Suriyanlek Has Ondash Scouted And Predicts A First-Round Finish
Suriyanlek Por Yenying has done his homework on Ramadan Ondash, and what he has found only increases his confidence.
The Thai dynamo sees real talent in the young Lebanese fighter but also identifies the exact traits that he believes will work against Ondash once the pressure of the flyweight division sets in. Fast hands, heavy shots, and explosive early energy are genuine threats. But Suriyanlek has spotted the cracks.
He explained:
“Ramadan has great footwork, and his hands are really fast and heavy. But his weakness is that his arsenal isn’t that versatile yet, and he doesn’t manage his gas tank well. He fights too much on emotion, which makes him visibly fade toward the end of the rounds.
“He’s definitely going to come out swinging from the opening bell because if he lets the fight drag on, he’s going to lose the power-and-impact battle. And me? I’m absolutely ready to trade with him. I’ve never been afraid of anyone when it comes to going blow-for-blow.”
For Suriyanlek, the script is already written. A firefight, a finish, and a life-changing US$100,000 contract.
Suriyanlek is not thinking about scorecards, judges, or a grinding three-round war. He is thinking about one moment that could change his life.
He concluded:
“For this fight, I honestly don’t see any scenario where it goes to the judges’ scorecards. In fact, I think there’s a high chance it ends in the very first round.
“If I can score a highlight-reel knockout against Ramadan, it proves that I am absolutely good enough to be a ONE Championship athlete, and it might even seal the deal for a contract right after the fight.
“That’s why this fight is massive for me. I am strictly aiming to knock him out. Getting that ONE contract would truly be a dream come true.”
