ONE Friday Fights 156 Co-Main Event Result: Mongkoldetlek Drowns Tuktarov In The Clinch, Enjoys Winning Return
After four years away from the global stage, Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion Mongkoldetlek Por Pim-on marked his return with a unanimous decision victory over promotional newcomer Ruslan Tuktarov in the co-main event of ONE Friday Fights 156 on May 29.
Their bantamweight Muay Thai bout, which aired live in Asia primetime from Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium, featured three rounds of high-paced action before the Thai’s experience proved decisive.
Tuktarov used his speed and aggression to trouble the returning Thai right off the bat. The 26-year-old fired off sharp punching combinations and even connected with a spinning high kick, helping him edge the opening round. However, the Tiger Muay Thai star’s rhythm took a hit in round two.

After absorbing another early flurry, the 30-year-old Mongkoldetlek gradually found his rhythm. The Por Pim-on fighter began dragging the fight into his preferred range, eventually tying up Tuktarov in the clinch and punishing him with stabbing knees.
The momentum remained firmly with Mongkoldetlek in the final round. His clinch work once again created openings for damaging knees, while his well-timed teeps repeatedly disrupted his Russian counterpart whenever he attempted to mount his own offense.
After three rounds of action, Mongkoldetlek’s work in range helped him secure a 125th career victory via unanimous decision.
