Eersel Gets New Opponent, ONE: FISTS OF FURY III Card Complete
The world’s largest martial arts organization will write the third and final chapter of the FISTS OF FURY event series on Friday, 19 March, but there has been a key change at the top of the bill.
ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Champion Regian “The Immortal” Eersel was originally scheduled to defend his coveted title against the #5-ranked lightweight contender, Islam Murtazaev, at ONE: FISTS OF FURY III, but the Russian star was forced to withdraw from the main event clash.
Replacing him will be Moroccan-Italian hard-hitter Mustapha “Dynamite” Haida, who could be an even tougher challenge for the Dutch-Surinamese kingpin.
Haida, the #2-ranked lightweight kickboxing contender, has defeated some of the most respected athletes in the sport, including Andy “Souwer Power” Souwer and Enriko “The Hurricane” Kehl.
The global fan base witnessed the Italian’s explosive style when he knocked out multiple-time World Champion Daniel “The Rock” Dawson in his promotional debut at ONE: BEYOND THE HORIZON in September 2018.
Now, Haida hopes to become the first person to beat Eersel in ONE Super Series and claim ONE World Title gold in the process.
In addition to that exciting contest, ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Champion Janet “JT” Todd will return to her Muay Thai roots.
Todd, who is also the #2-ranked contender in the atomweight Muay Thai division, will meet #4-ranked Alma Juniku in the co-main event of the evening.
The card will also feature another Muay Thai clash between Han Zi Hao and Adam Noi, as well as a trio of mixed martial arts fights featuring the likes of former ONE Strawweight World Champion Alex “Little Rock” Silva, Hiroba Minowa, and Yodkaikaew “Y2K” Fairtex.
