Shooto Pacific Rim Featherweight Champion Ryogo Takahashi first started his training at Paraestra Kakogawa in Hyogo, Japan, but now represents the famed Krazy Bee team started by the late Norifumi “Kid” Yamamoto. After taking third place at the Western Japan Amateur Shooto Open Tournament, Takahashi continued improving and claimed the Kansai Amateur Shooto Lightweight Tournament Championship just a few year later.
Takahashi turned professional in 2011 and quickly built an impressive record facing the likes of DREAM Featherweight World Champion Hiroyuki Takaya and Akiyo “Wicky” Nishiura. He then won the Shooto Pacific Rim Featherweight Title in November 2016 with a knockout of Tomoya Hirakawa, and he defended it twice before an injury forced him to relinquish the belt.
The Japanese featherweight then went undefeated with four knockouts in six wins to earn a place in ONE Championship. After blazing a trail through the domestic scene in Japan for almost a decade, Takahashi finally takes his talents to the global stage, and he is determined to continue his dominant run through the featherweight ranks.
