KOTC Light Welterweight Champion Lowen Tynanes hails from Hawaii, and was inspired to become a martial artist by his father, who competed professionally in the heavyweight division. At the instigation of his father, he took up boxing and wrestling while in high school, and was extremely successful in the latter sport, becoming a state champion. In 2011, Tynanes won his professional debut in Japan, kicking off a sparkling career.
In just his very next bout, Tynanes flew to the Philippines to take on the country’s number one lightweight Eduard Folayang in Manila. He won by first-round TKO after taking the Filipino down multiple times, silencing the crowd and announcing his arrival to the world.
This victory brought him to the attention of ONE Championship, and he went on to establish himself as a top talent in the lightweight division. Besides capturing a championship title in King of the Cage, Tynanes also holds impressive victories over the likes of Vuyisile Colossa, Felipe Enomoto, and Legend FC Lightweight Champion Koji Ando to remain undefeated in his career.
