Former ONE Lightweight World Champion Ok Rae Yoon took his talents to the global stage in 2021 and quickly proved that he belonged among the world’s elite fighters.

The South Korean warrior dominated the Asian MMA scene, claiming wins against top talents in China, Japan, and his home country of South Korea. After claiming the lightweight belts in the Double G FC and HEAT promotions, the Busan native found himself under the bright lights of ONE Championship.

Ok made a pair of loud statements in his first two promotional appearances in April 2021. The Team MAD representative beat former ONE Featherweight World Champion Marat “Cobra” Gafurov in his debut and then defeated former UFC Lightweight World Champion Eddie “The Underground King” Alvarez in his sophomore outing.

Those twin victories dubbed him “The Legend Killer” among fans and led him to a shot at ONE Lightweight World Champion Christian Lee’s belt in September 2021. The two went back and forth for five grueling rounds, but the South Korean picked his spots, dished out some damage, and defended every submission the titleholder threw at him. In the end, Ok earned the unanimous decision win and the coveted gold.

Aside from capturing the ONE Lightweight World Title, Ok’s brilliant run also secured him ONE’s 2021 Male MMA Fighter Of The Year award. But despite these accolades, the South Korean is looking to prove that he’s only just begun.
