Status: Former ONE Athlete
Shootboxing World Champion Hiroaki Suzuki grew up being mainly interested in music, and he didn’t become involved in martial arts until he was a teenager, when he started training in karate for self-defense. Little did he know, he would go on to become one of the most successful Japanese strikers of his generation.
Karate ignited a passion within Suzuki that he had never known, and it even led him to drop out of high school in order to become a live-in apprentice at his karate dojo. After a string of great success on the mats, Suzuki decided to pursue a career as a full-time martial artist, and he went on to compete over 150 times in both karate and kickboxing.
Along the way, his exciting and versatile style led him to several national and World Titles in Japan, most famously the Shootboxing Lightweight World Championship. This earned him a place among the world’s best strikers in ONE Super Series, and after making a winning debut on the global stage, Suzuki believes he is one step closer to making it as a professional combat sports athlete, and he is driven by the desire to win and defend the ONE Super Series Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title.
