About Kenny Tse

Status: Former ONE Athlete

K1 South Pacific Champion Kenny Tse was born to Chinese immigrants, who had moved to Australia in search of better opportunities before he was born. Tse was a good student in school, but was bullied due to his weight issues, short stature, and ethnicity. At the age of 13, his older brother Timmy encouraged him to start kickboxing under James Roesler in order to build self-confidence, learn self-defense, and lose weight. It is a decision that would change his life beyond his wildest dreams.

Tse’s first brush with competition happened entirely by chance. When he was just 15 years old, he stepped into the ring for the very first time as an amateur on just 24 hours’ notice. He would fall in love with competing immediately. Inspired by his parents’ impeccable work ethic and the belief that his coaches had in him, Tse turned professional, and compiled an excellent 39-5 record competing against tough competition around the Australian region.

After claiming the K-1 South Pacific Championship, Tse earned a place among the world’s best strikers in ONE Super Series. To this day, he still trains under James Roesler at Ultimate Gym Australia, and sharpens his skills daily alongside the likes of Andre Meunier in search of World Championship glory. Above all, he wants to make his gym and country proud, and inspire people by proving that hard work pays off regardless of your background.
