ONE Championship returns to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with a blockbuster event on Friday, 12 July, and the stakes could not be any higher.

The headline attraction of ONE: MASTERS OF DESTINY features one of the biggest kickboxing rematches of all time, as Giorgio “The Doctor” Petrosyan and Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy collide in the most important bout of their illustrious careers.

Also, in the co-main event, ONE Women’s Atomweight World Champion “Unstoppable” Angela Lee continues to chase new challenges in the strawweight division. This time, she meets eight-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Michelle Nicolini.

Between that and a supporting cast of rising stars and local heroes, it all adds up to a thrilling night of action in the Axiata Arena.

As event night approaches, here is a quick look at the incredibly high stakes for some of the athletes competing at ONE: MASTERS OF DESTINY.

A World Grand Prix Semifinal Spot

The main event will see Petrosyan and Petchmorakot face off in a ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix quarterfinal rematch.

Each man showcased their immense talent during their first encounter in May, and now they will meet again in a bid to find a definitive winner.

Not only does the victor advance to the semifinal round to face two-division Lion Fight Muay Thai World Champion “Smokin’” Jo Nattawut, but he will also be one step closer to the tournament championship and the US$1 million grand prize.

Will Petrosyan continue his incredible run of excellence as one of the world’s premier pound-for-pound strikers, or will the dynamic, exciting Petchmorakot shock the world again?

This should be a contest for the ages.

A Step Closer To Strawweight Gold

Lee’s quest for more success sees her pursue glory at strawweight.

She may have fallen short in her bid to become a two-division ONE World Champion in March, but the atomweight queen is motivated to renew her campaign against the most dangerous grappler in the weight class.

Since making her professional debut in June 2011, Nicolini has masterfully applied her world-class BJJ skills to mixed martial arts competition with great success.

The Brazilian sees this test as the perfect springboard to launch herself into a future challenge against ONE Women’s Strawweight World Champion “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan.

Both athletes are born finishers, and both have their sights set on strawweight gold. However, only one can move forward in their quest to claim the richest prize in the division.

Malaysian Heroes Prepare To Fly

Some of Malaysia’s most beloved martial arts heroes will look to deliver spectacular victories for their countrymen when they compete on home soil.

Ev “E.T.” Ting will attempt to finish Pancrase Welterweight World Champion Daichi Abe and break back into the ONE Lightweight World Title picture.

Meanwhile, rising women’s atomweight star Jihin “Shadow Cat” Radzuan hopes to beat Philippine sensation Jomary Torres and rebuild some momentum towards a ONE Women’s Atomweight World Title opportunity.

Finally, there is an exciting all-Malaysian ONE Super Series bantamweight clash, as Saiful “The Vampire” Merican and Mohammed “Jordan Boy” Bin Mahmoud go toe-to-toe under Muay Thai rules. This showdown will undoubtedly thrill the crowd, regardless of which local star wins.
