Every World Champion At ONE: WARRIOR’S CODE

Former ONE Featherweight World Champion Marat Gafurov

The incredible ONE: WARRIOR’S CODE card this Friday, 7 February, is more stacked with top-class talent than any other event you will see this weekend in the world of martial arts.

Despite some last-minute changes to the lineup, the show in Jakarta, Indonesia, will feature some of the most decorated competitors in the game.

The line-up at the Istora Senayan features seven World Champions from Muay Thai, kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and mixed martial arts.

A Striking Main Event

The inaugural ONE Featherweight Muay Thai World Title bout is on the line at the top of the bill, featuring two of “the art of eight limbs’” elite.

Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy will enter the match with a record that includes Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Titles from two divisions, as well as the WMC and IPMTF World Championships.

After multiple opponent changes, he will face another top-drawer competitor in Pongsiri PK.Saenchaimuaythaigym, who has also collected four World Titles, including the prestigious Lumpinee Stadium, Channel 7 Stadium, and WMC gold.

Cream Of The Mixed Martial Arts Crop

In the mixed martial arts ranks, there are a pair of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belts who have used their ground skills to take them all the way to the top – one on the mat, and one in the Circle.

Leandro “Wolf” Ataides earned his accolades in “the gentle art” as a five-time BJJ World Champion, which includes his top spot at the prestigious Copa de Mundo in 2005. The Brazilian powerhouse will try to earn a shot at the ONE Middleweight World Title against Reinier “The Dutch Knight” De Ridder on Friday.

In mixed martial arts, Russian submission machine Marat “Cobra” Gafurov used his rear-naked choke to defeat the likes of Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen, Ev “E.T.” Ting, and Narantungalag “Tungaa” Jadambaa to claim the ONE Featherweight World Championship and defend it twice.

Now in the lightweight division, he will kick off his campaign to win another belt against the unbeaten Moldovan, Iuri Lapicus.

Sensational Strikers

On a night filled with striking greatness, there are three stand-up World Champions set to compete on the lead card.

“The Baby Face Killer” Savvas Michael Petchyindee Academy – who returns to action after a hard road to recovery from injury against Taiko “Silent Sniper” Naito – is a WBC and WMC Muay Thai World Champion.

Andy “Punisher” Howson may be making his ONE Super Series debut, but he brings a massive collection of championship gold with him to Indonesia. The Englishman is a WBC, WMC, ISKA, and two-time ICO Muay Thai World Champion.

He will take on Australia’s Josh “Timebomb” Tonna, who is an ISKA K-1 World Champion and has been in nothing but exciting match-ups on the global stage.
