Indian Wrestling Champion Roshan Mainam began wrestling at the age of 9, with his hard work resulting in four Delhi State Championships as a member of Guru Hanuman Akhara, India’s oldest and most prestigious wrestling camp. He became interested in mixed martial arts after watching some bouts on television, and he soon added kickboxing to his training while participating in amateur mixed martial arts tournaments, where he dominated his opponents and won every bout by stoppage.
Mainam turned professional at the end of 2016 and spent the first part of his professional career in Indian regional promotion Super Fight League, where he was one of the organization’s fastest rising stars. After his success in SFL, he earned a place on the famed Evolve gym in Singapore after beating out hundreds of other applicants in the team’s tryouts, and then signed with ONE Championship to take his talents to the global stage.
Mainam has earned a reputation as a finisher, and now that he is training with world champions from various disciplines from around the globe, he brings a stellar skill set to the Circle that should see him go far in The Home Of Martial Arts.
