Gasanov Crashes Updated ONE Championship Rankings; Andrade Leapfrogs Lineker

Shamil Gasanov throws down Kim Jae Woong at ONE on Prime Video 3

As October comes to a close, it’s time to look at ONE Championship’s updated divisional rankings.

The month featured back-to-back events and four World Title belts up for grabs, so there were plenty of high-stakes, high-drama matchups.

Here, we take a look at the latest changes.

Bantamweight MMA Rankings

The highly anticipated main event clash between John “Hands of Stone” Lineker and Fabricio “Wonder Boy” Andrade at ONE on Prime Video 3 was supposed to determine the ONE Bantamweight World Champion.

Unfortunately, the battle ended in a no-contest ruling after Lineker received an unintentional groin strike and was unable to continue. Because “Hands of Stone” had failed to make weight ahead of his World Title defense, he was also stripped of his divisional belt, which now sits vacant.

Even though the fight concluded with no official winner, pollsters saw enough from Andrade in two-and-a-half blistering rounds of action to determine he deserves a higher ranking than the former champ.

“Wonder Boy” certainly looked phenomenal against Lineker, battering the brawler with straight punches and nearly finishing him with a devastating body blow just seconds before the fight-ending low blow. As a result, he owns the #1 contender spot, while Lineker sits at #2.

  • WC: Vacant
  • #1: Fabricio Andrade (+1)
  • #2: John Lineker (-2)
  • #3: Bibiano Fernandes (-2)
  • #4: Kwon Won Il (-1)
  • #5: Stephen Loman (-1)

Featherweight MMA Rankings

Featherweights take notice: Shamil “The Cobra” Gasanov has arrived.

The Russian sensation extended his professional MMA record to 13-0 with a dominant debut at ONE on Prime Video 3, needing just over two minutes to ragdoll and submit #2-ranked contender “The Fighting God” Kim Jae Woong.

With his powerful wrestling and his knack for finding a finish, the 27-year-old could be set for a lengthy stay in the division’s top five.

  • WC: Tang Kai
  • #1: Thanh Le
  • #2: Garry Tonon
  • #3: Ilya Freymanov
  • #4: Martin Nguyen
  • #5: Shamil Gasanov (NR)

Featherweight Kickboxing Rankings

Finally, ONE on Prime Video 3 saw legendary Thai superstar Sitthichai “Killer Kid” Sitsongpeenong get back on track with a hard-earned victory over previously undefeated Moroccan sensation Mohammed Boutasaa.

After losing to rival Chingiz Allazov in the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix Championship Final, “Killer Kid” returned to top form, as his power and crafty skills were too much for a game but outmatched Boutasaa.

The performance moved Sitthichai one step closer to a shot at kickboxing gold. He sits at #3 in the featherweight division, while fellow legend Giorgio Petrosyan drops to #4.

  • WC: Superbon Singha Mawynn
  • #1: Chingiz Allazov
  • #2: Marat Grigorian
  • #3: Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong (+1)
  • #4: Giorgio Petrosyan (-1)
  • #5: Tayfun Ozcan
