Malaysian martial arts start Peter Davis grew up in England, where he started to study kung fu under the tutelage of a Malaysian master. He went on to use this skill set to compete in the cage, making his debut in 2004 and winning a title two years later in only his third bout.
At the time, Davis was working as a financial consultant in the mortgage industry, but in 2007 the company he was working for was virtually wiped out by the financial crisis and he found himself jobless. On a previous visit to his native Malaysia, Davis had been urged by a friend to try his hand at modelling, and he decided to move to Kuala Lumpur to give it a go. The gamble paid off handsomely, as Davis is now one of Malaysia’s top models, and has appeared in a slew of hit movies.
Davis continued to train and teach martial arts, and when Malaysia’s martial arts scene began to take off in 2011 he decided to return to the cage after a five-year absence. He was quickly snapped up by ONE Championship, and went on to become one of the organization’s most popular lightweights. With an all-action style, none of Davis’ bouts have gone the distance, and he owns several exciting finishes on his professional record.
