Superlek Vs. Goncalves Grand Prix Semifinal Added To ONE On Prime Video 1; Full Card Revealed

Superlek Kiatmoo9 is declared winner at ONE 157

ONE Championship’s inaugural event on streaming giant Prime Video already packed quite the punch.

Now, two additional fights will give the historic card at the Singapore Indoor Stadium even more firepower when it airs during North American primetime hours on Friday, August 26.

Along with the bouts that were previously announced, ONE on Prime Video 1: Moraes vs. Johnson II will feature the other ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix semifinal between #1-ranked contender Superlek Kiatmoo9 and #5-ranked Walter Goncalves.

Also, kicking off the stacked event is a welterweight MMA clash between former ONE Welterweight World Champion Zebaztian Kadestam and former ONE Lightweight World Title challenger Iuri Lapicus.

Superlek earned his spot in the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix semifinals by dominating previously ranked Japanese contender Taiki Naito in the quarterfinals this past May.

The pound-for-pound Thai superstar masterfully used his kicks, elbows, and pressure to dominate Naito and advance to the next round of the tournament.

Soon after, Goncalves stunned fans around the globe by knocking out Mexican striker Josue Cruz in a cool 35 seconds.

The Brazilian first landed a devastating left hook to the body that crumpled Cruz and then finished him off with knees to the head.

Now, Superlek and Goncalves will open the main card of ONE on Prime Video 1, and the winner will undoubtedly watch the second semifinal matchup later in the evening between reigning divisional king Rodtang Jitmuangnon and Cypriot phenom Savvas Michael.

The very first match of ONE on Prime 1 will now feature Kadestam and Lapicus, and the victor could position himself for a fight with a top contender in the welterweight division.

After dropping the ONE Welterweight World Title to Kiamrian Abbasov in 2019 and suffering a tough string of losses, Kadestam rebounded by knocking out Valmir Da Silva in highlight-reel fashion this past February.

Now, the Swede will meet Lapicus, a former ONE Lightweight World Title challenger who is moving up a weight class and competing for the first time since his controversial no contest with American megastar Eddie Alvarez in April 2021.
