ONE: LIGHTS OUT Full Card Revealed; Prajanchai-Lasiri Postponed
ONE Championship has finally unveiled the full card for ONE: LIGHTS OUT on Friday, 11 March, and the show is loaded with a slew of explosive matchups.
Three World Title fights were previously announced for the show, including the ONE Featherweight World Championship main event between defending titleholder Thanh Le and #2-ranked contender Garry “The Lion Killer” Tonon, and the ONE Bantamweight World Championship co-main event between reigning king Bibiano “The Flash” Fernandes and top-ranked John “Hands of Stone” Lineker.
However, the ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title bout between new champion Prajanchai PK.Saenchai and #3-ranked Joseph “The Hurricane” Lasiri has been postponed.
The Italian challenger suffered an injury during his training camp and has been forced to withdraw from the contest. As such, Prajanchai will not compete at ONE: LIGHTS OUT either.
That matchup is now expected to happen sometime later this year.
In addition, the global fan base will see some of the most exciting knockout artists and submission wizards in MMA, including former featherweight king and current #5-ranked contender Martin “The Situ-Asian” Nguyen.
The Vietnamese-Australian star hopes to break his skid and return to the top of the weight class, but he needs to defeat promotional newcomer Kirill Gorobets, who is riding a nine-fight winning streak and owns a 72 percent finishing rate.
Fifth-ranked strawweight contender Alex Silva will also make his return. Currently, the Brazilian holds the record for most submission victories in the division (6), and he’ll look to build on that and extend his two-fight winning steak at ONE: LIGHTS OUT.
However, Adrian Mattheis will attempt to derail his foe’s momentum. The Indonesian boasts some dizzying accolades too, as he holds the record for most finishes in the weight class (8) and co-holds the record for most knockouts (4) in the division.
When these strawweight leaders collide in Singapore, a highlight-reel finish will be all but guaranteed.
ONE: LIGHTS OUT also features a plethora of exciting talents.
Indonesia’s top flyweight mixed martial artist, Eko Roni Saputra, will attempt to extend his five-fight winning streak. Most recently, the rising star knocked out Liu Peng Shuai in 10 seconds to earn the fastest finish in divisional history.
Saputra will square off against Chan Rothana, who has knocked out a pair of the Indonesian’s compatriots. These two athletes have been calling each other out since last June, and now, they will finally stand face-to-face inside the Circle.
Additionally, strawweight Muay Thai sensation Iman “Pretty Killer” Barlow, former ONE World Title challenger Josh “Timebomb” Tonna, and heavyweight monsters Ismael Londt and Iraj Azizpour are set for action.
