Denice Zamboanga Thinks Stamp Fairtex Will Knock Out Ham Seo Hee In World Title Fight

Denice Zamboanga Julie Mezabarba ONE Fight Night 9 50

On September 29, Denice “The Menace” Zamboanga will join millions of fans around the globe in watching the blockbuster main event of ONE Fight Night 14 on Prime Video.

That headline attraction will see former two-sport ONE World Champion Stamp Fairtex battle South Korean veteran Ham Seo Hee for the ONE Interim Atomweight MMA World Title live in U.S. primetime from the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Zamboanga will be tuning in to the high-profile contest with a vested interest. After all, the #3-ranked atomweight MMA contender knows she might be first in line to challenge the winner.

But beyond those World Title implications, the Filipina standout is friends with Stamp. The two athletes also train together, giving Zamboanga a unique insight into this wildly anticipated showdown.

She spoke to onefc.com about the Thai superstar, who is aiming to become a historic three-sport queen:

“Training with Stamp is fun. She’s very playful. But when there’s a fight coming up, she’s serious about it. In training camp, Stamp is a beast. She works very hard and takes things very seriously. She’s always focused, which is different from what fans see on social media.”

With firsthand knowledge of Stamp’s dedication, Zamboanga believes she will emerge victorious.

Even though the Fairtex star is feared for the jaw-dropping striking abilities that earned her the ONE Women’s Atomweight Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Titles, “The Menace” thinks her training partner will be the more versatile mixed martial artist in this matchup.

At the same time – as a former opponent who has twice lost a decision to “Hamzzang” – Zamboanga is quick to credit the South Korean’s fight IQ and natural athleticism:

“I think Stamp is going to win this fight because she’s the more well-rounded fighter. Her aggression will overpower Ham. That being said, Ham is great at reading opponents. She can figure out an opponent’s style and adapt. And she’s physically very strong.”

Ultimately, the 26-year-old Filipina expects the World Title showdown to end with a knockout – most likely from one of the Thai athlete’s rib-crunching kicks.

She added:

“I see a knockout win for Stamp Fairtex via body shot. I’ve felt Stamp’s body kicks in training, and it’s a knockout blow. I know how that feels, and it’s not good.”

‘I Deserve A Shot’ – Zamboanga Targets Winner Of ONE Fight Night 14 Main Event

While she might be good friends with Stamp Fairtex, Denice Zamboanga would be down to fight the Thai – especially with a World Title on the line.

And if Ham Seo Hee emerges victorious on September 29, “The Menace” would happily take on “Hamzzang” in a trilogy showdown.

Either way, Zamboanga – who was previously the division’s #1-ranked contender and has won her last two bouts – believes she is worthy of a crack at gold next.

She stated:

“I had a shot at the belt before, but so much has happened since then, and it slipped through my fingers. But I think I still deserve that shot. I’m the third-ranked atomweight, so whoever wins this fight, I think I deserve a shot at that belt.”
