5 Things To Know About 16-Year-Old Muay Thai Prodigy Olivia Bahsous

16-year-old Muay Thai fighter Olivia Bahsous

When Olivia “Diamond” Bahsous was old enough to run around a gym, her father was already bringing her along to training sessions.

More than a decade later, martial arts is a way of life for the Canadian phenom.

The 16-year-old will make her highly anticipated ONE Championship debut against Phontip Khlongtoeiyouthcenter in a 102-pound catchweight Muay Thai bout at The Inner Circle 19 on June 19. The event streams live in Asia primetime via live.onefc.com from Bangkok’s historic Lumpinee Stadium.

Before she steps into the weekly series, here are five things fans should know about the rising star.

#1 She Was Born Into A Martial Arts Family

Combat sports have been a part of Bahsous’ life for as long as she can remember.

The Canadian is the oldest of four siblings, and martial arts has become a family affair. Her younger brother and two younger sisters all train and compete, while her father, Tanios, a Canadian Muay Thai Champion himself, introduced the family to the sport after developing his own passion for “the art of eight limbs.”

Tanios emigrated to Canada as a Palestinian refugee, where he eventually built a life centered around family, hard work, and sports.

Growing up, gym visits became routine. Before long, those visits evolved into a serious commitment that would shape the course of her future.

Today, Bahsous spends as much as six to eight months each year training in Thailand, immersing herself in the culture and sharpening her skills alongside some of the sport’s best athletes.

#2 She’s Already A Three-Time Junior World Champion

Despite being only 16 years old, Bahsous has already assembled a resume that many fighters spend years chasing.

The teenage phenom owns an impressive 15-1 record and a growing reputation as one of the brightest young stars in Muay Thai.

She captured IFMA Junior World Championship gold medals in 2023, 2024, and 2025, establishing herself as one of the most accomplished young Muay Thai athletes on the planet.

Those achievements came against international competition and helped transform her from a promising prospect into one of the sport’s most talked-about rising talents.

Now, the Cookie Muay Thai and P’Chai Muay Thai representative enters ONE Championship carrying serious momentum behind her.

#3 She Made Lumpinee Stadium History At 13

Competing at Bangkok’s historic Lumpinee Stadium is a dream for countless Muay Thai athletes.

Bahsous accomplished that feat before most teenagers even begin their amateur careers.

In April 2023, she became the youngest female athlete ever to compete at the legendary venue, further cementing her status as one of the sport’s most exciting competitors.

The milestone was another sign that Bahsous was advancing at a remarkable pace.

This week, she returns to the same historic arena for the biggest fight of her young career.

#4 She Aims To Be A World Champion In Muay Thai, Kickboxing, And MMA

Bahsous’ ambitions extend far beyond Muay Thai.

While Muay Thai remains her primary focus, Bahsous has openly stated her ambition to become a World Champion in kickboxing and MMA as well.

Unlike many stand-up specialists, she is already investing heavily in her grappling development.

In December 2025, Bahsous won gold at the ADCC Asia & Oceania Championship in Bangkok, topping the Women’s Beginner Adult -50-kilogram division.

The achievement demonstrated that her long-term goals are more than just dreams. She is already laying the foundation to compete across multiple combat sports.

#5 She’s A Social Media Star

Bahsous’ influence extends beyond the gym.

The teenage sensation has built a following of more than 200,000 fans on Instagram, where she regularly shares training footage, technique demonstrations, lifestyle content, and behind-the-scenes glimpses into her life as a young athlete.

Her content often combines useful Muay Thai tips with fun training challenges and family moments, helping introduce new audiences to the sport.

As her profile continues to grow, Bahsous is quickly becoming one of the most recognizable young faces in martial arts.

A victory at The Inner Circle 19 would only accelerate that rise.
