The iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, will soon play host to another fight card featuring the planet’s most talented and entertaining martial artists.

ONE Fight Night 28: Prajanchai vs. Barboza on Prime Video goes down live in U.S. primetime this Friday, February 7, and it promises intriguing action from the opening bout all the way up to the World Title main event.

With 11 fights spread across three different combat sports, the show is sure to draw attention from fans all around the globe.

Now, just days away from showtime, here are five reasons why you must watch ONE Fight Night 28 live.

#1 Prajanchai Kicks Off His Two-Sport World Title Reign

The headline attraction will see reigning two-sport king Prajanchai PK Saenchai put his ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Championship on the line against British slugger “El Jefe” Ellis Badr Barboza.

The Thai is widely recognized as one of the planet’s best pound-for-pound strikers, having filled his trophy case with prestigious titles and accolades over the course of his incredible career. His clash with Barboza will mark the first defense of his Muay Thai gold and his first bout since claiming the ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Title last year.

Prajanchai could further cement himself as an all-time great if he’s able to consistently defend both his Muay Thai and kickboxing belts, and he’ll aim to do just that when he takes on “El Jefe,” who has yet to taste defeat in ONE.

#2 Nong-O Launches World Title Bid In New Division

Before that, former longtime ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Hama looks to inject new life into his career when he drops down to flyweight to face the division’s #4-ranked contender, Kongthoranee Sor Sommai.

Nong-O held the bantamweight Muay Thai crown for four years, but since losing it in 2023, he’s gone 1-2 against elite-level opposition. Still, the 38-year-old knockout artist has plenty of fight left in him, and a move down to flyweight – where the World Title currently sits vacant – could mean another run at gold.

He’s in for a serious test against Kongthoranee. The Sor Sommai product has lost just two times across 12 thrilling appearances in ONE, employing his top-tier technical acumen and aggressive style of striking to earn a coveted top-five spot in the flyweight Muay Thai rankings.

Given the high-stakes nature of this bout, as well as each athlete’s world-class abilities, fans should expect an electric battle when these Thai heroes enter the ring.

#3 American Rising Stars Take Center Stage

Some of the best martial artists from the United States hope to make waves on the global stage at ONE Fight Night 28, as four American rising stars will be in action.

First, in a featherweight submission grappling match, New Jersey native Gianni Grippo – already a three-time IBJJF No-Gi World Champion – will try to make a statement in his promotional debut against Brazil’s Gabriel Sousa. A BJJ black belt under the legendary Marcelo Garcia, Grippo brings a wealth of high-level experience and a dynamic, submission-oriented game to the world’s largest martial arts organization.

Also, California’s Gilbert Nakatani will square off against Filipino scrapper Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado in a flyweight MMA tilt. Nakatani came up short in his promotional debut against perennial top contender Yuya Wakamatsu in December 2024, but he nonetheless impressed fans with his gritty, all-action style of combat and absurd durability.

Finally, Sean “The One” Climaco and Diego Paez will each look to assert himself as America’s next big Muay Thai star when they go toe-to-toe in a flyweight contest.

Climaco has displayed shocking punching power and a fearless willingness to engage through his two promotional appearances, while Paez, with his decorated amateur career and hot start to his pro career, has all the tools to compete with the best of the best on the elite international scene.

#4 Saemapetch Hunts For Revenge Against Lobo

Thai fan favorite Saemapetch Fairtex will be out for revenge when he collides with former two-time ONE World Title challenger Felipe “Demolition Man” Lobo in a heated bantamweight Muay Thai rematch.

The pair’s first encounter at ONE Fight Night 9 in April 2023 was an unforgettable barnburner. That night, Saemapetch looked to be well on his way to scoring the decision win only to see the Brazilian roar back with an epic third-round knockout.

If that fight was any indication, fans should buckle up for another war on February 7. Saemapetch has made a name for himself as one of Muay Thai’s most ruthless finishers, while Lobo packs serious dynamite in his punches – and both athletes are hungry to climb their way toward gold.

#5 A Filipino Showcase

ONE Fight Night 28 will also serve as a showcase for the Philippines, as four of the nation’s greatest MMA fighters are scheduled to compete.

Team Lakay’s Carlo Bumina-ang burst onto the global scene with five consecutive victories at ONE Friday Fights, but he suffered his first professional defeat against a top-five bantamweight MMA contender in his U.S. primetime debut last year. The athletically gifted 30-year-old is undoubtedly hungry to bounce back against South Korea’s Song Min Jong and continue his climb toward a World Title.

After that, Miado will look to snap a losing skid and remind fans why he’s one of MMA’s most electrifying fighters when he makes his flyweight debut opposite Nakatani in a bout that’s guaranteed to deliver white-knuckle action.

Fifth-ranked bantamweight MMA contender Jeremy “The Juggernaut” Pacatiw could make it three in a row if he’s able to hand Ibragim Dauev the first loss of his career. While he’s renowned for his dynamic striking and stunning knockout power, Pacatiw will enter this bout with two consecutive submission victories.

The Filipino invasion of Bangkok doesn’t stop there, as Soma Fight Club’s Lito “Thunder Kid” Adiwang looks to earn himself a top-five ranking when he takes on #4-ranked strawweight MMA contender Keito “Pocket Monk” Yamakita. A veteran of 13 fights in ONE, Adiwang has used his elite striking and solid takedown defense to win three in a row, and he hopes to keep the ball rolling against the grappling-heavy Yamakita.
