About Gianni Grippo
Gianni Grippo is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt known for his technical prowess and competitive achievements. He started his BJJ journey at 10 years old at Renzo Gracie Academy in New York City while also balancing a successful young career as a swimmer.
In fact, he won three Junior Olympics swimming competitions while continuing to grow his BJJ skills.
But it was BJJ that Grippo gravitated toward most. He competed and won the IBJJF World Championships as a blue belt, purple belt, and brown belt. After that, Grippo became a black belt in 2013 and went on to compete in the IBJJF No-Gi World Championships, winning the tournament twice.
Known for his expert techniques like the berimbolo and leg drag guard pass, Grippo now looks to bring his dangerous submission skills into ONE Championship’s featherweight grappling division.
