5 Myanmar Stars Who Could Make Waves In ONE Championship

Wild Buzzer Beater Clash between Saw Min Min and Josh Trowbridge

Myanmar has already produced some extraordinary athletes on the global stage of ONE Championship.

Former two-division ONE MMA World Champion Aung La “The Burmese Python” N Sang masterfully blazed the trail, becoming one of the most celebrated martial artists in his country’s history. More recently, Soe “Man of Steel” Lin Oo has brought his fearless Lethwei style to the Muay Thai ranks, while Vero “The Kayan Leopard” has emerged as another proud flag-bearer after putting together four remarkable victories in five promotional appearances.

But another hungry group of Myanmar athletes is working tirelessly to write the next epic chapter.

From battle-tested strikers who have spent years valiantly competing at Lumpinee Stadium, to an MMA tournament winner and a dangerous atomweight preparing for a pivotal assignment in Japan, these five names have golden opportunities to make serious noise in the world’s largest martial arts organization.

#1 Kyaw Swar Win

At just 24 years old, Kyaw Swar Win is beginning to build serious momentum at exactly the right time.

The Fairtex Training Center representative announced himself in spectacular fashion this past January, stopping Muga via a brilliantly timed second-round TKO in fast-paced bantamweight Muay Thai action. After facing the highly experienced Samingdam Looksuan two months later, he returned in June and delivered a composed, tactical performance to defeat Slatan Jitmuangnon by unanimous decision.

That impressive blend of sheer toughness and striking versatility has already earned him a prominent assignment.

Kyaw Swar Win will face Komawut FA Group in the highly anticipated bantamweight Muay Thai co-main event of The Inner Circle 27 this Friday, August 21, which streams live from the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. His durability and burning desire to prove he belongs on the main roster could completely shift the tide in this crucial matchup.

Another commanding performance against a hardened Thai opponent could move the Myanmar standout much closer to the life-changing opportunity he is furiously chasing.

#2 Saw Min Min

Saw Min Min has already proven that he can succeed under dramatically different rule sets.

The 28-year-old from Thaton initially made his fearsome name in Lethwei before entering ONE back in 2017. On his very first night with the organization, he stopped Kyar Ba Hein by knockout and then quickly submitted Shwe Kyaung Thar with a slick guillotine choke to capture the ONE Myanmar Flyweight Tournament Championship.

Years later, Saw Min Min successfully resurfaced as a Muay Thai fighter and showed that his elite finishing instincts had not disappeared. In June 2025, he stopped Josh Trowbridge in the closing seconds of their bantamweight battle at ONE Friday Fights 112. All three of his striking victories under the ONE banner have come inside the distance.

His recent schedule has also put him across from some extremely serious opposition. Saw Min Min has bravely shared the ring with surging knockout artist Detchawalit Silkmuaythai and four-time Muay Thai World Champion Yodlekpet Or Atchariya, gaining invaluable experience against two of the weekly series’ toughest names.

Now, Saw Min Min has an all-important chance to make a major statement when he faces Yodphupa Petkiatpet in bantamweight Muay Thai at The Inner Circle 27 this week.

With his trademark Lethwei toughness, proven finishing ability, and experience across both MMA and Muay Thai, a strong performance against Yodphupa could easily put the Myanmar veteran right back on an upward trajectory.

#3 Har Ling Om

Har Ling Om may have the biggest immediate opportunity of anyone on this prestigious list.

The 28-year-old Phyo Wai Group representative owns a highly respectable 32-6 career striking record and has already tested himself repeatedly in ONE’s loaded atomweight Muay Thai ranks. Earlier this year, he smoothly defeated Khunsuk T1 Fight Academy by unanimous decision at ONE Friday Fights 149.

Now, he is diligently preparing to enter completely different territory.

On September 12, Har Ling Om will travel to Yokohama, Japan, to face reigning ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Champion Nadaka in an atomweight kickboxing clash at ONE SAMURAI 3. The blockbuster matchup will officially mark Har Ling Om’s first kickboxing appearance in ONE.

Few assignments could possibly provide a bigger platform. The defending champion is unbeaten through five ONE appearances and has firmly established himself as one of the most dominant young kings on the roster. An upset victory over Nadaka would instantly become the defining result of Har Ling Om’s career and dramatically tip the scales of his standing on the global stage.

#4 Sonrak Fairtex

Few Myanmar athletes have accumulated more hard-fought experience on ONE’s weekly platform than Sonrak Fairtex.

The 29-year-old southpaw has been a reliable fixture at Lumpinee Stadium since appearing at the inaugural ONE Friday Fights event in January 2023. His hard-charging Muay Mat style is built almost entirely around thunderous punches, chopping low kicks, relentless pocket pressure, and slicing elbows at close range.

His overall journey has featured plenty of twists, but Sonrak has repeatedly shown that he can build massive momentum.

At one point, the Fairtex representative rattled off five consecutive ONE victories, culminating in a knockdown-filled decision over Joachim “Pantera” Ouraghi in March 2025. He later reminded everyone of his explosive finishing power by knocking out Yamin PK Saenchai in the opening round and flattening Buakhiao Por Paoin with his concussive left hand in January 2026.

With nine impressive victories already under the ONE banner, Sonrak is comfortably the most battle-tested athlete among these five. That extensive experience, combined with his proven ability to put together extended winning runs, means the Myanmar slugger can never be counted out when another major opportunity arrives.

#5 Sulaiman Looksuan

At just 23 years old, Sulaiman Looksuan still has plenty of time to turn his exciting flashes of brilliance into a sustained climb.

The Myanmar striking phenom made an explosive introduction to ONE Friday Fights in 2023, knocking out Chaongoh Jitmuangnon before expertly stopping Petake Sor Thepparat in the second round just two months later. His aggressive forward pressure and absolute willingness to exchange in the pocket immediately made him a highly entertaining presence in the weekly series.

His path has not always been perfectly straightforward, but 2026 has brought a wave of renewed momentum.

Sulaiman returned in March and stopped Zhang “Chinese Tiger” Jinhu at the end of the opening round at ONE Friday Fights 146. Two months later, he followed that performance with a hard-fought majority decision victory over Spain’s Juan Martinez.

Those back-to-back wins completely restored Sulaiman’s momentum before an unfortunate injury temporarily halted his progress. Once fully healthy, the 23-year-old sensation will look to swiftly resume that climb and add another extraordinary chapter to his ONE campaign.

Myanmar has already seen exactly what can happen when one of its dedicated martial artists catches fire.
