3 Bouts That Could Steal The Show At ONE Fight Night 46 On August 14
ONE Fight Night 46: Hemetsberger vs. Diachkova on Prime Video promises another unforgettable night of martial arts action at the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The blockbuster card goes down live in U.S. primetime this Friday, August 14, and it’s headlined by the ONE Women’s Strawweight Muay Thai World Title clash between defending two-sport queen Stella “Always Hungry” Hemetsberger and Russian knockout artist Natalia “Karelian Lynx” Diachkova.
Beyond the main event, the lineup features a compelling mix of MMA, Muay Thai, kickboxing, and submission grappling, with established stars and motivated promotional newcomers all looking to make their mark on the global stage.
Among those contests, three matchups possess all the ingredients to produce something special and potentially steal the show at ONE Fight Night 46.
#1 Jhanlo Mark Sangiao Vs. Marcos Aurelio
With Elbek Alyshov being crowned the new ONE Bantamweight MMA World Champion a few weeks ago, the division is about to heat up even more, and both Jhanlo Mark Sangiao and Marcos Aurelio have a prime opportunity to break into the upper echelon of the weight class.
For years, Sangiao has been called the future of Team Lakay, and there’s no surprise why. The Baguio City native represents the team’s new generation, having trained under his father, Philippine MMA pioneer Mark “The Machine” Sangiao, since he was a child and learning from all the greats who have passed through the fabled gym’s walls.
Though Team Lakay is known for its world-famous wushu style, Sangiao became well-rounded by training wrestling, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and all the other elements of modern MMA simultaneously. That, along with his youthful vigor and explosiveness, have led to a 7-1 career mark with six first-round stoppage victories.
In his most recent outing against Mongolian hard-hitter Shinechagtga Zoltsetseg last year, the Team Lakay prince showed that he had the patience and endurance to go the distance, eventually submitting him in the waning seconds of the contest.
But at ONE Fight Night 46, he’ll face a young, hungry Brazilian who can match Sangiao’s well-rounded skills, physicality, intangibles, and high energy. The only difference is Aurelio could also be motivated by revenge.
Aurelio rattled off eight wins to start his MMA career, which led to an invitation to join ONE Championship. But in his promotional debut this past January, Sangiao’s Team Lakay stablemate Carlo “The Bull” Bumina-ang shocked the Brazilian and took away his perfect record.
But the 22-year-old bounced back immediately, submitting Mauro Mastromarini two months later to make a statement victory. Now, he has a chance to get some redemption from the Team Lakay camp.

#2 Viet Anh Do Vs. Davi Brandao
If there is one matchup where fans would be wise not to blink, it is the flyweight MMA battle between Viet Anh Do and Davi “Ajuricaba” Brandāo.
The numbers alone are staggering. The two undefeated athletes own 12 combined professional victories and a perfect 100 percent finishing rate, with neither man having ever required the judges.
Do is 6-0 with all of his victories coming by way of KO or TKO. Even more impressively, five of those stoppages arrived in the opening round, with the other one coming in the second.
The 29-year-old Kiwi-Vietnamese sensation has already built a 5-0 record under the ONE Championship banner. His latest destruction of “Money” Kyungjung Kim in May earned him a performance bonus and the coveted US$100,000 contract that brought him to the organization’s global roster.
But Brandao possesses almost eerily similar finishing numbers.
The 20-year-old Brazilian is also 6-0 with five first-round finishes and one second-round stoppage.
Unlike Do, however, his victories are divided perfectly between three knockouts and three submissions, making the OCS Jiu-Jitsu product dangerous wherever the action goes.
Twelve fights, 12 finishes, and 10 in the opening round. Something has to give when these unbeaten wrecking machines finally collide.
#3 Kana Morimoto Vs. Yu Yau Pui
Kana “Krusher Queen” Morimoto and Yu Yau Pui have both experienced the highs and lows of competing against elite opposition, making their atomweight kickboxing encounter an intriguing crossroads battle.
Four-time K-1 Champion Kana brings a 24-7 career record with 11 finishes into the contest, and she remains one of Japan’s most accomplished female kickboxers.
The 34-year-old star has endured a rocky promotional campaign, but her unanimous decision victory over former three-sport queen Stamp Fairtex at ONE 173 last November showed exactly what she can accomplish at her best.
Now coming off a setback in her latest appearance, “Krusher Queen” will be desperate to regain that form.
Meanwhile, Yu arrives with momentum on her side.
The Hong Konger owns a 29-4 professional record and has compiled seven victories across nine ONE Championship appearances.
After navigating her own difficult stretch, Yu returned with a vengeance this past March when she overwhelmed Anna “Supergirl” Jaroonsak for a spectacular 75-second TKO. The Thai phenom would retire following that performance.
Kana’s punching power and extensive championship experience promise to collide head-on with Yu’s trademark aggression and relentless output. With both women eager to strengthen their position in the atomweight kickboxing ranks, neither can afford to take a backward step.
