China’s Niu Kang Kang grew up in Henan, a Chinese province whose people are renowned for their love of martial arts, and his father was no exception. Niu’s father urged the disobedient young boy to start training in sanda to learn focus and discipline, setting his son on a righteous path towards becoming a professional martial artist. After years of training in his native province, Niu went in search of better training in 2015, and moved far from home to the metropolitan city of Shanghai.
Drawn to mixed martial arts competition, Niu trains at Dragon Warrior Gym under famed veteran Alex Niu, and has used his excellent striking to register a solid 5-1 record in regional Chinese promotions. He aims to build on his impressive start by working his way towards World Title contention in ONE Championship, and join the growing list of elite athletes representing China on the global stage in the promotion.
