After a successful undefeated record in amateur mixed martial arts and Brazilian jiu-jitsu competition, Indonesian warrior Doan Birawa has finally arrived on the global stage of martial arts.
Born and raised in Solo on Central Java, Birawa went through a long period of emotional turmoil as an angry, directionless youth after his parents divorced. He often fought in the streets, and lacked any meaningful purpose, until he began training in the art of Muay Thai. His passion for martial arts was ignited, and he soon discovered startling natural talent, winning numerous bouts across BJJ, kickboxing, mixed martial arts, and even wushu.
Training daily alongside Indonesian martial arts pioneer and ONE veteran Yohan Mulia Legowo, Birawa became inspired by the sight of his teammates making a living in professional competition. He decided to follow the same path, and build a better life for his family by testing his skills against the world’s best martial artists in ONE.
