Three Massive Muay Thai Bouts Booked For ONE Fight Night 44

Muay Thai fighter Bampara Kouyate punches "Smokin" Jo Nattawut

After announcing the main event for ONE Fight Night 44 on Prime Video, ONE Championship has added a trio of thrilling contests to the growing lineup, bringing another wave of world-class Muay Thai to an already stacked card.

The event airs live in U.S. primetime on Friday, June 26, from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The new additions feature a bantamweight Muay Thai clash between Ferrari Fairtex and Japan’s Shinji Suzuki, a featherweight Muay Thai debut for English star Charlie Guest against French-Malian knockout artist Bampara Kouyate, and a bantamweight Muay Thai showdown between Nakrob Fairtex and Jacob Smith.

Ferrari has experienced every high and low the ONE Championship journey has to offer. The 28-year-old Fairtex Training Center product carries a 136-34 career Muay Thai record and five promotional victories into this contest, including a stretch where he strung together four consecutive wins and looked destined for the upper echelons of the division.

His momentum shifted after that, but the Thai veteran arrives at ONE Fight Night 44 with the experience and motivation to reestablish himself.

Standing in his way is Japan’s Suzuki, a 40-year-old veteran out of Fujimakick Muay Thai Gym with 33 professional striking wins who has shown resilience throughout his promotional appearances. He will try to bring the resourcefulness of a seasoned campaigner to Lumpinee Stadium on June 26.

The featherweight Muay Thai division welcomes a highly credentialed newcomer when Guest makes his debut on the global stage against the dangerous Kouyate.

The 30-year-old Englishman from Tiger Muay Thai and Impact MMA arrives with an impressive striking pedigree, holding the ISKA crown along with WBC European and British Kickboxing titles. He steps straight into one of the tougher debut matchups on the card.

Kouyate is a 31-year-old French-Malian striker from Team Mehdi Zatout with a 36-3 career record and two knockout victories over “Smokin” Jo Nattawut and Luke “The Chef” Lessei. The model and hard-hitting martial artist is coming off a tough loss and will look to make a statement against an opponent making his first appearance under the ONE banner.

Few comeback stories on the June 26 card carry more intrigue than Smith’s return to the ring. The 33-year-old Englishman owns 16 career wins and pushed some of the division’s best fighters to the absolute limit.

Those performances cemented his reputation as one of the toughest and most durable fighters despite falling short. Now, Smith makes his long-awaited return against Thailand’s Nakrob.

The 27-year-old Fairtex Training Center product carries a 69-25 career record and a 10-5 promotional ledger built on some outstanding performances in the ONE Friday Fights event series, though recent results have not gone his way. Both men arrive at June 26 hungry to reverse their fortunes.
