Schiavello Wins Asian TV Award, ‘The Rock’ Congratulates Him
At the recent Asian Television Awards, ONE Championship Commentator Michael Schiavello took home the prestigious Best Sports Presenter/Commentator Award for the second time in his illustrious career.
Schiavello, who earned the honor for his work at ONE: CENTURY PART II, thanked the Asian Television Awards and ONE Championship in his acceptance speech – but he reserved a special callout for the global fan base.
“I would like to thank one person in particular,” Schiavello said.
“Right now, he is sitting at home on the sofa watching on TV. Right now, she is at the restaurant with friends watching on the big screen. Right now, he’s out with his mates, enjoying all the action on their phone. That person is the ONE Championship viewer – anywhere around the world – without whom none of this would be possible.”
That respect for the fans captured one person’s attention in particular: Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
