John Lineker To Face Stephen Loman In Clash Of Top Bantamweight Contenders At ONE Fight Night 14
A pair of highly ranked bantamweight MMA contenders will aim to earn a World Title shot in a key battle at ONE Fight Night 14: Stamp vs. Ham on Prime Video.
Former divisional king John Lineker and surging phenom Stephen Loman are officially scheduled to throw down on Friday, September 29, live in U.S. primetime from the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
Lineker gets a quick turnaround after his recent stoppage victory over Kim Jae Woong at ONE Fight Night 13 earlier this month.
That win solidified “Hands of Stone” as the division’s #1-ranked contender following his World Title loss to reigning ONE Bantamweight MMA World Champion Fabricio Andrade in February.
With Andrade now booked to face Jonathan Haggerty for the vacant ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Title on October 6, the Brazilian star could cement his case for a trilogy fight while his old foe is focused on the striking ranks.
However, #2-ranked Loman knows he could lock in his own World Title challenge by overcoming Lineker in Singapore.
The 28-year-old Filipino rising star has picked up three straight wins in the world’s largest martial arts organization – and 11 straight victories overall – including a decision over the bantamweight GOAT, Bibiano Fernandes.
“The Sniper’s” well-rounded skill set could make life difficult for his heavy-handed opponent, but with Lineker’s legendary power lasting from bell to bell, you can never count him out.
This exciting contest joins a blockbuster card, which is topped by the ONE Interim Women’s Atomweight MMA World Title bout between Stamp Fairtex and Ham Seo Hee.
Plus, Danielle Kelly and Jessa Khan will meet for the inaugural ONE Women’s Atomweight Submission Grappling World Title, Allycia Hellen Rodrigues will challenge Smilla Sundell for the ONE Women’s Strawweight Muay Thai World Title, and strawweight MMA queen Xiong Jing Nan will take on Nat “Wondergirl” Jaroonsak in a special rules striking battle.
