About Jessa Khan

Cambodian-American Jessa Khan’s martial arts journey began at the age of 12 after she took her first steps onto the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu mats — and she hasn’t looked back since.

Khan quickly ascended to regional fame, and before long she found herself representing the Cambodian National Team. She soared to prominence when she captured gold in jiu-jitsu at the 2018 Southeast Asian Games. This triumph not only elevated her status as a national hero, but also marked a monumental achievement for the country.

Building on the early success, Khan continued to dominate the Southeast Asian Games, consistently gracing the podium with her extraordinary performances.

Just two days before her 19th birthday in October 2020, Khan was awarded her BJJ black belt by her esteemed mentors, Rafael and Guilherme Mendes.

Khan caught the attention of the global martial arts community in February 2021 when she entered the Who’s Number One submission grappling tournament. The rambunctious rumbler pulled off a stunning upset against fellow grappling star Danielle Kelly, taking the unanimous decision victory.

This landmark win paved the way for Khan’s emergence on the international scene and solidified her position among the elite in the world of submission grappling.

However, the defining moment of Khan’s illustrious career arrived at the 2023 IBJJF World Championships. The grappling phenom stood atop the podium as a black belt in the light featherweight division with a gold medal around her neck.

Khan’s upward trajectory reaches an exciting climax at ONE Fight Night 14: Stamp vs. Ham on Prime Video on September 29. Poised to make history, she’s now set to compete for the inaugural ONE Atomweight Submission Grappling World Championship against Kelly in a highly anticipated rematch.
