Johanna Persson Vs. Martyna Dominczak Set For Muay Thai Showdown At ONE Fight Night 43
Former ONE Women’s Atomweight Muay Thai World Title challenger Johanna Persson and Poland’s Martyna Dominczak will lock horns in an atomweight Muay Thai bout that has all the ingredients for a barnburner from start to finish.
The clash is scheduled for Friday, May 15, at ONE Fight Night 43: Tang vs. Gasanov on Prime Video, broadcasting live in U.S. primetime from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Persson’s journey is one of the most compelling stories in the European Muay Thai circuit.
The 31-year-old Stockholm resident out of Gefle Fight Center and Sitjaopho Muaythai didn’t lace up her first pair of Muay Thai gloves until the age of 23, yet she has since assembled a 13-4 career striking record adorned with some of the sport’s most prestigious accolades.
The WMC Nordic Title, WMC European Title, and ISKA Strawweight Muay Thai Title all came her way in 2024, before she capped that remarkable rise by winning the WBC Muay Thai World Championship in 2025.
Her ONE Championship debut arrived on the grandest stage possible, stepping straight into a challenge for the ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Title against Allycia Hellen Rodrigues. A third-round knockout loss ended that night early, but Persson’s determination to make her mark on the global stage remained unshaken.
She was set to return at ONE Fight Night 41 this past March against America’s Selina “The Teep Queen” Flores, only for an injury to force Flores out of the contest.
Now, the Stockholm striker steps back into the ring with a clear objective: secure her first promotional win and remind the atomweight Muay Thai division exactly why she earned a World Title shot in the first place.
Standing across from her is Dominczak, a 24-year-old powerhouse whose ONE journey has been anything but straightforward.
The Legion Głogow product made an immediate impact upon her promotional arrival, stopping Nat “Wondergirl” Jaroonsak via TKO and signaling her arrival as one of the division’s most dangerous strikers.
She followed that up by winning two of her next three contests, building a ONE record of three wins and earning a reputation as a relentless, high-volume attacker who can break opponents down over the course of a fight.
Her most recent outing, however, delivered a harsh lesson. Sharing the ring with reigning ONE Atomweight Kickboxing World Champion “The Queen” Phetjeeja in an atomweight Muay Thai matchup, the 24-year-old suffered a TKO defeat against one of the sport’s most fearsome finishers.
With a 7-2 career record and plenty left to prove, Dominczak enters this contest with renewed hunger and a point to make.
