Haggerty vs. Superlek To Headline ONE 168: Denver, Full Card Revealed

Jonathan Haggerty Superlek Kiatmoo9 ONE Friday Fights 72 6

The main event for ONE Championship’s second on-ground event in the United States has been confirmed, as well as the complete lineup.

Two-sport king Jonathan “The General” Haggerty will defend his ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title against reigning ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion “The Kicking Machine” Superlek Kiatmoo9 in the headline attraction of ONE 168: Denver, which broadcasts live in U.S. primetime at Ball Arena on Friday, September 6.

The stakes couldn’t be any higher for this blockbuster matchup.

Haggerty, who also holds the ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Title, is looking to make a successful second defense of his Muay Thai strap and get some redemption from his Thai rival, who originally defeated him via doctor stoppage in their initial encounter back in October 2018.

Meanwhile, Superlek wants to beat the Englishman definitively and leave no doubt that he is the better fighter. Also, should he win the belt, he would be the second person to simultaneously hold ONE World Title gold in two sports and weight classes.

Also, reigning ONE Women’s Atomweight MMA World Champion Stamp Fairtex was scheduled to challenge strawweight titleholder “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan for a chance to become a two-division queen.

However, the Thai luminary is still recovering from the torn meniscus she suffered earlier this year.

As a result, the bout has been removed from the show.

Despite that, the card still promises to deliver all the thrills.

In the co-main event, ONE Lightweight Submission Grappling World Champion Kade Ruotolo will defend his belt against flyweight titleholder Mikey “Darth Rigatoni” Musumeci in a dream match that has Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fans salivating.

Plus, British legend Liam “Hitman” Harrison will make his long-awaited return, former bantamweight MMA king John “Hands of Stone” Lineker will compete in his first Muay Thai match, and “The Burmese Python” Aung La N Sang will attempt to earn his fourth straight victory and hand Shamil Erdogan his first loss.
