‘Nobody Is Going To Stop Me Now’ – Lamnamoonlek Targets Third Straight Kickboxing Victory At The Inner Circle On March 27
Thai striking dynamo Lamnamoonlek Torfunfarm is determined to prove his successful transition to kickboxing was no fluke when he faces China’s Yuan Pengjie in a flyweight showdown.
The pair collide at The Inner Circle on Friday, March 27, broadcasting live in Asia primetime from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok.
The 27-year-old southpaw brings a 106-30 career record with a 3-1 promotional slate into this matchup.
Lamnamoonlek suffered a promotional debut loss in Muay Thai against Kongsuk Sitsarawatsuer last year, then bounced back to claim a victory in their rematch. His move to kickboxing later in the year showcased his versatility, producing two decision victories.
Riding a three-fight winning streak, he reflected on competing in the kickboxing format:
“I’m really proud of my first two kickboxing fights. I’ve had hundreds of Muay Thai bouts, so adjusting to this rule set took some work. The best part is seeing the fans accept me in this new sport; it feels great to know I’m performing well.”
This is Lamnamoonlek’s first time competing at flyweight in three years. Previously fighting a weight class higher, he’s aiming to prove the slight weight reduction does him justice.
He has no doubts about making the weight either.
He said:
“I used to fight at 136 to 137 pounds, but this will be my first time dropping to 135 pounds in three years. I’m confident in my weight cut; it shouldn’t be an issue. I’m fully committed to the flyweight division now.”
Despite the quick turnaround from his last victory, Lamnamoonlek has invested a full camp in this opportunity.
He said:
“I only took a two- to three-day break after my last fight before getting right back into it. I’ve had a full month of solid training for this one. My coaches are working as hard as ever, studying my opponent and tweaking the game plan to make sure we’re ready for anything on fight night.”
Lamnamoonlek Identifies Height And Cardio As Key Factors
Lamnamoonlek Torfunfarm has studied Yuan Pengjie extensively during camp.
The 23-year-old Yuan brings a 38-4 career record into his ONE debut. The Chinese striker presents a significant test for Lamnamoonlek’s kickboxing evolution, the kind of world-class opposition that reveals whether recent success is genuine.
Lamnamoonlek has identified his opponent’s strengths and weaknesses, and he plans to exploit both:
“Yuan Pengjie is a world-class talent. He’s a southpaw like me, a technical fighter, and likes to play a counter-game, so he’ll be a tough puzzle to crack. His main strength is his height and those tricky little shots he throws. As for his weakness, I don’t think his cardio is the best. He seems to fade as the fight goes on.
“I’m a little concerned that he’s a pure kickboxer with great footwork and a solid guard. But after two [kickboxing] fights, I don’t get nervous anymore. I’m adjusted. My left kick is still my deadliest weapon, and I plan on letting it fly all night long.”
A third consecutive kickboxing victory would position him for a life-changing main roster contract and accelerate his path to ONE World Championship contention.
The ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title is the destination, and Lamnamoonlek is in no mood to wait.
He said:
“This fight is huge. A third straight win in kickboxing would put me right on the doorstep of a main roster contract. I want to get to the big ONE shows as soon as possible because my ultimate goal is the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title.
“I’m very confident in my path. Keep an eye on me. I’m going to take this as far as I possibly can. Nobody is going to stop me now!”
