Eko Roni Saputra defeats Kaji Ebin at ONE DAWN OF VALOR

Multi-time Indonesian National Wrestling Champion Eko Roni Saputra picked up his first win in ONE Championship with a surprising stoppage after just 19 seconds of action.

The 28-year-old faced Filipino Kaji “Alpha” Ebin in a flyweight mixed martial arts bout at ONE: DAWN OF VALOR on Friday, 25 October, but the Indonesian star did not get a chance to break a sweat in front of his compatriots.

The flyweights touched gloves as the action got underway at the Istora Senayan in Jakarta, and Ebin looked to establish his striking with a leg kick and then a right hand, which narrowly missed its mark.

Saputra countered with a right hand of his own, but he missed the target as “Alpha” evaded. The Filipino then reset himself and launched another right hand, which led to the bout-ending injury – a dislocated shoulder.

Eagle-eyed referee Yoshinori Umeki spotted Ebin’s injury and stopped the action at just 19 seconds of round one.

Saputra picked up the first win of his mixed martial arts career, and he will hope to showcase his skills once again in front of his Indonesian fans.
