ONE Friday Fights 109 isn’t short on global superstars, all-action fan favorites, and intriguing matchups.
Set to go down this Friday, May 23, the card will feature one of the more exciting recent lineups in the weekly series at Bangkok’s legendary Lumpinee Stadium.
Considering that every fight at the event is designed to produce fireworks, fans won’t want to miss a second of the action. With that said, these three battles stand out as likely barnburners.
#1 Yod-IQ Vs. Brice Delval
The main event will be a firefight for as long as it lasts, as surging Thai striker Yod-IQ Or Pimolsri squares off with Algerian phenom Brice “The Truck” Delval in a bantamweight Muay Thai tilt.
Still just 23 years old, Yod-IQ comes into the contest riding an impressive six-fight winning streak, having employed his elite fight IQ, relentless pacing, and superb technical prowess to emerge as one of the most promising young talents in the weight class.
Delval, though, might be the man to derail his foe’s hype train.
The Mahmoudi Gym representative fought for ONE twice back in 2019 and 2020, dropping a pair of razor-thin decisions against former long-reigning ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nong-O Hama and decorated veteran “Elbow Zombie” Muangthai PK Saenchai.
Despite those losses, “The Truck’s” wildly entertaining style left an impression on fans. Now with more experience and better physical conditioning, he is poised to make waves on the global stage.
#2 Yuki Yoza Vs. Elbrus Osmanov
In bantamweight kickboxing action, former K-1 Champion Yuki Yoza makes his hotly anticipated promotional debut against undefeated Russian prodigy Elbrus “The Samurai” Osmanov.
Japanese superstar Yoza has already cemented himself as one of the planet’s most feared kickboxers, stopping former ONE World Champion Petchdam Petchyindee in his most recent outing. He’ll look to use his ultra-aggressive, finish-hunting style to quickly climb the ladder in the talent-packed division.
However, Yoza will first have to overcome a bona fide phenom of the striking arts.
The 23-year-old Osmanov has never tasted defeat in his professional career and has looked nothing short of dominant through six appearances at ONE Friday Fights.
Stylistically, this bout promises white-knuckle action. While the Japanese newcomer is a forward-marching slugger of the highest degree, Osmanov is an exceptionally gifted athlete who can fire off a spinning back kick just as easily as a thudding jab.
#3 Mohammad Siasarani Vs. Kaito
Fans around the globe are also anxiously awaiting the featherweight kickboxing bout between ONE newcomer Kaito and hard-nosed Iranian brawler Mohammad Siasarani.
The 27-year-old Kaito brings a wealth of high-level experience, a jam-packed trophy case, and plenty of well-earned momentum into his promotional debut.
The Japanese sensation owns victories over the likes of former ONE World Champion Petchmorakot Petchyindee and current ONE Interim Featherweight Kickboxing World Champion Masaaki Noiri, proving he belongs among the best strikers in the world’s largest martial arts organization.
Siasarani’s granite chin and heavy hands could spoil Kaito’s first appearance in the organization.
The Iranian is no stranger to taking on elite opposition in ONE, defeating Thai legend Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong in 2023 and most recently Chinese upstart Liu Mengyang. He now aims to announce himself as a true World Title threat at ONE Friday Fights 109.
Kaito’s crispy combination striking and crafty footwork should make for an intriguing clash of styles against Siasarani’s brawling tendencies.
