Superlek Kiatmoo9 To Defend Kickboxing World Title Against Rodtang Jitmuangnon At ONE Fight Night 8

Superlek defends the ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title against Rodtang at ONE Fight Night 8.

After almost 500 combined bouts, the two greatest flyweight strikers on the planet will finally meet for the first time – and ONE Championship gold will be on the line.

On Friday, March 24, newly minted ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Champion Superlek Kiatmoo9 will defend his belt against longtime flyweight Muay Thai king Rodtang Jitmuangnon at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video.

Along with his kickboxing strap, Superlek is a four-time Muay Thai World Champion who owns a 132-29-4 professional record and has beaten several of the biggest names in the sport.

Those include Thai icon Muangthai PK.Saenchai, former ONE World Champion Jonathan Haggerty, and #3-ranked flyweight kickboxer Taiki Naito. Moreover, “The Kicking Machine” earned recent back-to-back victories over Rodtang’s famous teammate, Panpayak Jitmuangnon.

Superlek then reached the pinnacle of his career when he defeated Spain’s Daniel Puertas for the vacant ONE Flyweight Kickboxing World Title this past January at ONE Fight Night 6.

Now, the 27-year-old Thai superstar will make his first ONE World Title defense against the toughest opponent of his career – a compatriot who’s never previously crossed his path.

Since joining ONE Championship in 2018, Rodtang has become an unstoppable force in the striking arts while emerging as a true global megastar.

“The Iron Man” – who owns a remarkable 270-42-10 career slate – picked up the biggest achievement of his career when he dethroned Haggerty for the ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Title in August 2019. Since then, he’s successfully defended the belt four times.

Overall, the 25-year-old is a perfect 13-0 in Muay Thai and kickboxing bouts under the ONE Championship banner while earning a pair of victories to become the #1-ranked flyweight kickboxing contender.

That success has led to this challenge of Superlek in Singapore, where Rodtang can join the exclusive list of two-division ONE World Champions and further cement his legacy in the history books.
