Sam-A Vs. El Jamari, Suakim Vs. Kuzmin Muay Thai Bouts Added To ONE Fight Night 42
ONE Championship has added two explosive Muay Thai matchups to ONE Fight Night 42: Eersel vs. Rungrawee on Prime Video on Friday, April 10.
Legendary striker Sam-A Gaiyanghadao will face Moroccan standout Elmehdi “The Sniper” El Jamari in a strawweight clash, while Suakim Pongsuphan PK will collide with Russian technician Vladimir Kuzmin in bantamweight action.
These exhilarating clashes will take place live in U.S. primetime from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Sam-A, who represents Evolve MMA, brings a staggering 377-50 career record with an 11-4 promotional slate into this showdown.
The southpaw is a former two-sport, two-division ONE World Champion who won the inaugural ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Title, inaugural ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title, and inaugural ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Title.
Currently riding a two-bout winning streak, the Thai legend emphasizes technical precision and fight IQ through his muay femur style, and he often utilizes lightning-quick kicks and deadly counter punches, which have troubled opponents for more than three decades.
After his most recent victory over former top-five flyweight contender Jaosuayai Mor Krungthepthonburi at ONE Friday Fights 137 last December, Sam-A declared his intentions to pursue another crack at the divisional gold, which is currently held by ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Prajanchai PK Saenchai. A dominant performance would position the icon perfectly for that opportunity.
Standing in his path is El Jamari, who is based in Barcelona, Spain, and brings a 27-2 career record into the clash.
The Moroccan made his promotional debut at ONE Fight Night 30 against Thai veteran Thongpoon PK Saenchai in March 2025, and he impressed by flatlining his opponent with a crushing left hook to earn a first-round knockout victory.
A couple of months later, El Jamari challenged surging Malaysian-Thai sensation Aliff Sor Dechapan in a competitive three-round battle that resulted in a decision loss. But now, he aims to return to winning ways by derailing a legend’s World Title ambitions.
This strawweight collision creates a fascinating generational clash between Sam-A’s technical mastery and experience and El Jamari’s explosive power.
Plus, in bantamweight Muay Thai action, the 30-year-old Suakim will face 28-year-old Kuzmin in a high-stakes matchup.
Suakim is a three-division Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion who brings an incredible 155-60 career record into the contest. The Thai striker has compiled a 7-2 promotional slate with five finishes, establishing himself as one of the most dangerous fighters in the bustling division.
Currently riding a six-bout winning streak, the Thai veteran most recently knocked out British-Canadian dynamo Jake “The One” Peacock to earn a US$50,000 performance bonus last November, showcasing the devastating finishing power that has defined his career.
Across the ring from him will be Kuzmin, who represents Fight Club Archangel Michael with five promotional wins.
The Russian has competed against reigning ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion Jonathan “The General” Haggerty and Thai warrior “Elbow Zombie” Muangthai PK Saenchai, gaining valuable experience against world-class opposition.
Currently riding a two-fight winning streak and having lost only once in his last five matches, Kuzmin brings a technical, hybrid Muay Thai-kickboxing style that can threaten opponents from both the orthodox and southpaw stances. His ability to switch stances and launch powerful spinning strikes creates constant danger for any adversary.
