About Jake Peacock
Jake “The One” Peacock is far from your average Muay Thai fighter. Incredibly, the English-born Canadian resident has reached the global stage of ONE Championship despite missing his right forearm – and he’s never allowed those circumstances to deter him.
Born and raised in England, Peacock’s limb difference is a result of the amniotic band wrapping around his forearm in the womb, subsequently preventing his right arm from growing and leaving it in need of amputation.
Still, his childhood was no different from any other’s. As the son of a former Chelsea midfielder, Peacock grew up playing soccer but was attracted to combat sports early on, beginning with karate.
He threw his first punch in school while fending off a bully, and that’s when he realized combat sports would allow him to stand up for himself and become a stronger person.
After transitioning to full-contact karate and showing great promise in the art of Muay Thai, a 15-year-old Peacock and his family moved to Calgary, Canada, where he continued to chase his martial arts dreams.
His impressive talent led to success in the Canadian Muay Thai scene and then a Road To ONE: Canada tournament in early 2024. Peacock dispatched each opponent en route to the final, where he knocked out his adversary to earn a contract with ONE Championship.
With 11 finishes in 12 professional fights, “The One” always aims to entertain the fans, and his unique style brings something to the table that can’t be replicated.
On top of that, his arrival in ONE Championship makes him the first-ever limb-different fighter to compete in the organization. Next, Peacock will make his highly anticipated promotional debut against Kohei Shinjo at ONE Friday Fights 58: Superbon vs. Grigorian II on Friday, April 5.
