Reigning ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Prajanchai Pongsuphan PK is making his highly anticipated return to competition, and he is wasting absolutely no time stepping back into high-level kickboxing action.
The Thai icon faces former ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Title challenger “Golden Boy” Wang Junguang in a three-round strawweight kickboxing showdown at The Inner Circle 35. The card streams live in Asia primetime exclusively for members at live.onefc.com from the historic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, on Friday, October 16.
Prajanchai’s return comes nearly a year after losing the kickboxing crown to Jonathan Di Bella and subsequently undergoing surgery — a grueling process that sidelined the Thai superstar as he diligently worked his way back to full physical health.
Instead of taking a tune-up fight to ease his way back in, the Bangkok native has boldly opted to jump straight into the deep end. By choosing a dangerous striking veteran for his comeback fight, he faces a man who once came agonizingly close to becoming the promotion’s first-ever strawweight kickboxing king.
Prajanchai trains out of the renowned PK Saenchai Muaythaigym and boasts an almost unbelievable career striking record of 344-53, firmly cementing his status as one of the greatest pound-for-pound martial artists in the sport.
The Thai superstar made his ONE Championship debut in dramatic fashion back in 2021, defeating former king Sam-A Gaiyanghadao by majority decision to claim the strawweight Muay Thai gold.
He temporarily lost the belt in his first defense to Joseph “The Hurricane” Lasiri in 2022, but quickly bounced back with a decision win to earn an interim World Title opportunity against Sam-A. Prajanchai finished the living legend via second-round knockout to become the interim titleholder.
Three months later, the 31-year-old made a highly successful kickboxing debut. Then after that, he exacted his revenge on Lasiri in a high-stakes unification bout, starching him in less than 90 seconds to become the division’s undisputed Muay Thai king.
In 2024, Prajanchai proudly added a second discipline to his throne, defeating Di Bella for the vacant ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Championship to achieve two-sport supremacy.
He successfully defended his Muay Thai crown in 2025 against British striker “El Jefe” Ellis Badr Barboza via a dominant TKO. However, later that year in a highly anticipated rematch to settle the score, Di Bella turned the tables and claimed the kickboxing title back via unanimous decision. Now, following successful surgery and a lengthy recovery from injury, Prajanchai returns to the discipline in aggressive pursuit of two-sport glory once again.
Standing across from Prajanchai is Wang, a 31-year-old fighter from Zhoukou whose martial arts journey famously began at the Shaolin Temple, where his father sent him to study traditional kung fu.
A former Enfusion Kickboxing Champion, Wang made his memorable ONE debut in 2019 by absolutely demolishing Federico “The Little Big Man” Roma via a first-round TKO. That highlight-reel performance instantly earned him a shot at the inaugural ONE Strawweight Kickboxing World Title against Sam-A.
The two elite strikers waged a five-round war, with Sam-A’s relentless output ultimately earning the Thai the unanimous decision. Wang suffered another incredibly close call in 2020, dropping a razor-thin split decision to Aslanbek Zikreev. Now, after time away, Wang returns to ONE’s brightest stage with a golden opportunity to derail one of striking’s biggest global stars.
