‘I Expect A Fierce Fight’ – Aliff Hopes To Earn World Title Shot In Pivotal Muay Thai Clash With Elmehdi El Jamari

Streaking strawweight Muay Thai contender Aliff Sor Dechapan is on a mission to cement himself as the division’s next World Title challenger when he faces Moroccan knockout artist Elmehdi “The Sniper” El Jamari at ONE Fight Night 32 on Prime Video.

That high-stakes clash will go down in front of a raucous Thai crowd at Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium and will air live in U.S. primetime on Friday, June 6.

For Aliff, the bout represents a massive opportunity to move closer to his goal of challenging two-sport kingpin Prajanchai PK Saenchai for the ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Title.

Renowned for his explosive style and elite finishing abilities, the 21-year-old phenom is currently riding an impressive three-fight winning streak.

El Jamari, meanwhile, will come into the contest following a devastating knockout victory over Thongpoon PK Saenchai in his promotional debut, displaying the terrifying punching power that made him one of the Middle East’s top rising stars.

Considering that a potential crack at 26 pounds of gold is on the line, it’s no surprise that Aliff has pushed his body to the limit in preparation for ONE Fight Night 32. He told onefc.com:

“For this fight, I’m 100 percent ready, and I’ve been fully committed to my training. It’s been a tough camp. But I know I can win this fight, and I have full confidence in my ability to do so.”

The Sor Dechapan product has done plenty to establish himself as one of Muay Thai’s best pound-for-pound finishers, boasting five highlight-reel stoppages across seven total wins in ONE.

With both athletes possessing undeniable show-stopping power, fans should buckle up for fireworks when these strawweight strikers collide.

Aliff said:

“I’m ready to test his power in this fight. I expect a fierce fight.

“Anything can happen in a fight. But I’m confident my KO power is better than his. Even if I had no confidence in my knockout power, I’d do my best to make sure it is at its best for this fight. If there’s a chance, with Allah’s grace, I’ll surely knock him out.”

The stakes couldn’t be higher for the young Malaysian-Thai. He’s sure that a victory over El Jamari would earn him a shot at gold:

“I’m very confident that if I win this fight, I will get the chance to fight Prajanchai for his belt.”

Battling The El Jamari Brothers

Aliff Sor Dechapan’s current winning streak includes victories over Brazilian brawler Walter Goncalves, Russian destroyer Shamil Adukhov, and notably, Zakaria El Jamari – the older brother of Elmehdi El Jamari.

When the pair collided last August at ONE Fight Night 24, Aliff demolished the elder El Jamari in less than two minutes, sending a clear message to the strawweight Muay Thai division that he was on his way to the top.

As he now prepares to face the younger El Jamari brother, Aliff said that Elmehdi presents an even greater challenge:

“Yeah, I’ve knocked out his brother. I think both of them have the same style. But, in my opinion, Elmehdi is much more powerful than Zakaria. He’s much more complete than his brother.”

Aliff is focused on completing the family sweep.

While he said the brothers possess a similar, boxing-oriented style, he’s identified certain areas where Elmehdi seems to be better than Zakaria, making this a more significant test of his World Title credentials:

“Speed, punching power, and his ability to throw combinations – from what I’ve seen, these three things make Elmehdi a more dangerous fighter.”
