Singapore’s Evolve MMA has confirmed the acquisition of Eduardo Pamplona as the new head coach of the Evolve Fight Team.

The Brazilian was previously a Head Coach at the world-renowned Black House gym in Los Angeles, California, which has been home to several mixed martial arts world champions.

Originally from Sao Paulo, Pamplona competed as a professional in Muay Thai and mixed martial arts all over the world. He also owns a Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt.

“I’m extremely motivated to join Evolve MMA as the Head Coach of the Evolve Fight Team,” he said.

“I look forward to facing new challenges and achieving new things alongside all the great athletes and World Champions at Evolve.

“I want to bring my fighting soul and spirit to the Evolve fighters and lead the Evolve Fight Team as the number one fight team in Asia.

“By working together and continually improving, we will achieve all of our goals.”

In recent weeks, ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong declared the Philippines’ Team Lakay as the best academy in Asia, but now with Pamplona at the helm, Evolve has a leader to mastermind their efforts to reclaim top spot.

“We are very excited to have Eduardo on board with us leading the Evolve Fight Team,” said Wesley De Souza, Evolve Vice President.

“With his numerous achievements from his time as a fighter and coach, we are confident that appointing Eduardo will bring us even more success.
