Dmitry Menshikov Vs. Mouhcine Chafi Completes All-Muay Thai Card For ONE Fight Night 17

The historic all-Muay Thai lineup for ONE Fight Night 17: Kryklia vs. Roberts on Prime Video is now complete with the addition of a hard-hitting lightweight contest.

On December 8 in U.S. primetime, Russian striker Dmitry Menshikov and Moroccan-Spanish athlete Mouhcine “The Assassin” Chafi will square off at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Menshikov stepped straight into the fire upon entering ONE Championship, challenging Regian Eersel for the ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Title at ONE Fight Night 11 in June. It didn’t end well, as Menshikov was stopped early in the first round – but he was not deterred.

Eager to prove he belonged on the biggest stage, the 25-year-old returned with a first-round stoppage of his own, snapping Rungrawee Sitsongpeenong’s three-fight unbeaten run at ONE Fight Night 14 in September.

With his confidence back, Menshikov is hoping to earn a World Title rematch with Eersel, but he’ll need to get past a highly skilled opponent.

Chafi made his first ONE appearance when he took on Sinsamut Klinmee at ONE Fight Night 16 earlier this month.

Stepping in as a late replacement against the two-time ONE Lightweight Muay Thai World Title challenger, “The Assassin” made a statement with his strong performance.

The 26-year-old gave Sinsamut all he could handle with long-range strikes and hard straight punches while absorbing the Thai slugger’s biggest hits.

Although he came up short in the decision, the former WBC Muay Thai World Champion raised his stock considerably and garnered a legion of new fans.

Both Menshikov and Chafi own fan-friendly styles and the skills to hang with the division’s upper echelon, but a victory in Bangkok is crucial if they want to remain among them.

Their bout adds to the exciting all-striking card at ONE Fight Night 17 on Prime Video, which is headlined by Roman Kryklia vs. Alex Roberts for the inaugural ONE Heavyweight Muay Thai World Title.

With every bout contested in “the art of eight limbs,” martial arts fans around the world can expect to watch the planet’s greatest stand-up fighters in action.
