Lucas Gabriel Vs. Alibeg Rasulov Set For Explosive Lightweight MMA Main Event At ONE Fight Night 49
A high-stakes lightweight MMA showdown between two hardy warriors will headline ONE Fight Night 49 on Prime Video, as Brazilian star Lucas Gabriel will square off against former ONE World Title challenger Alibeg Rasulov inside Bangkok’s historic Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, November 6.
The card, which will broadcast live in U.S. primetime, should treat fans to a thrilling battle that could end in a heartbeat or build to an explosive finish down the stretch. What’s more, the victor could break into the ONE Lightweight MMA World Championship picture.
Gabriel has made his presence felt since arriving on the global stage in May 2023.
The Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt has strung together an unbeaten six-bout run under the ONE Championship banner, a stretch built on relentless forward pressure, dangerous submission craft, immense power, and a willingness to finish opponents the moment an opportunity presents itself.
That campaign includes a slick submission victory over Russian athlete Gadzhimurad “Tought” Amirzhanov and a statement win over former ONE Lightweight MMA World Champion Ok Rae Yoon at ONE Fight Night 44 this past June.
Part of what makes the 26-year-old so dangerous, too, is his composure under pressure, rarely rushing his offense even when the moment calls for urgency.
That approach has carried him through three straight victories on the ONE Friday Fights circuit before his move to the main roster, each one further cementing his standing as a complete mixed martial artist rather than a one-dimensional threat.
Now 11-1 (1 NC) in his career, the Phuket Fight Club representative will look to extend his undefeated promotional run and secure a shot at the ONE Lightweight MMA World Championship.
Rasulov, however, is ready to change that narrative entirely.
The Turkish standout arrived in ONE Championship undefeated with a reputation fueled by crushing takedowns, suffocating clinch work, and the kind of raw strength that has buried opponents across the division.
He wasted little time living up to that billing, employing a relentless grappling attack to outwork the aforementioned Ok in his promotional debut back in July 2024, which earned him a crack at two-division ONE World Champion Christian “The Warrior” Lee.
Unfortunately, their first meeting for the lightweight MMA crown at ONE Fight Night 26 in December 2024 ended in a no contest following an accidental eye poke. When they met in a long-awaited rematch at ONE 173, Lee handed Rasulov his first career defeat.
Rather than let that setback define him, the 33-year-old has used it as motivation. He is returning to the drawing board, determined to refine his game.
A win here could potentially set up a trilogy against Lee, who will defend his lightweight MMA gold against ONE Welterweight Submission Grappling World Champion Tye Ruotolo at The Inner Circle 37 just hours before Rasulov’s clash with Gabriel gets underway.
Stylistically, this one has all the makings of a genuine collision course.
Gabriel’s dynamic grappling and finishing instincts will be tested immediately by Rasulov’s wrestling pedigree and raw strength, setting up a battle that could be decided anywhere the fight goes, whether that is on the feet or the canvas.
