Aung La N Sang To Face Alain Ngalani In Epic Showdown

ONE World Champion Aung La N Sang

ONE Championship has recently announced the main event for ONE: HERO’S DREAM, set for 3 November at the Thuwunna Indoor Stadium in Yangon, Myanmar.

Headlining the card will be reigning ONE Middleweight World Champion “Burmese Python” Aung La N Sang, who will take on heavyweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion, Alain “The Panther” Ngalani.

The match was announced by ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong himself.

Aung La N Sang was last seen in the ONE Championship cage this past June, when he toppled previously-unbeaten titleholder Vitaly Bigdash of Russia to capture the ONE Middleweight World Championship.

With the win, Aung La N Sang became Myanmar’s foremost sporting icon in history, having captured the country’s first-ever world championship.

Ngalani, on the other hand, was just in the cage last weekend, when he scored an impressive 11-second knockout over former ONE Heavyweight World Title challenger Hideki “Shrek” Sekine of Japan. It was recorded as the fastest knockout in ONE heavyweight history.

What immediately stands out about this contest is the size difference between the two athletes. Aung La N Sang, who is the promotion’s middleweight titleholder, competes at the 93kg limit, while Ngalani, a resident of Hong Kong originally from Cameroon, usually campaigns in ONE’s heavyweight division, which has a 120.2kg limit.

Although Aung La N Sang’s middleweight title will not be on the line, this is simply a chance for both athletes to prove who is the better martial artist overall, and to put on an electrifying show in Yangon. Additional bouts at ONE: HERO’S DREAM will be announced at a later date.
