Amber Kitchen Promises ‘More Aggressive’ Mindset In Return At ONE On Prime Video 1

Viktoria Lipianska defeats Amber Kitchen AT ONE IMMORTAL TRIUMPHYK 9011

Amber Kitchen is vowing to make up for lost time when she returns to the ONE Championship Circle at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Friday, August 26.

The English phenom has not competed since 2019, but she will open up the main card of ONE on Prime Video 1: Moraes vs. Johnson II in a 58-kilogram catchweight Muay Thai fight against Diandra Martin.

It’s a massive opportunity for each striker, as this is the first scheduled matchup in ONE Championship’s new multi-year partnership with Amazon Prime Video Sports.

And with plenty of time to develop her game, “AK 47” can’t wait to showcase her improvements – both physically and mentally – live in North American primetime.

The 23-year-old said:

“Everyone’s going to see a different side to my training. I’m going to be a lot more aggressive. Especially in the small [4-ounce MMA] gloves, it’s a totally different game, so I’m really looking forward to putting the pressure on, coming forward, and showing things that I didn’t show in my last fight.”

Kitchen will be facing a tough Australian striker in Martin, who debuted against future strawweight Muay Thai queen Smilla Sundell in February.

It’s an intriguing contest between a pair of hungry competitors, and the winner will emerge as a threat in the promotion’s all-striking ranks.

The British athlete is prepared for a tough battle, but she’s also been honing a game plan for Martin alongside her mother, Julie Kitchen, a multiple-time Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion.

“AK 47” said:

“[Diandra] is very good, she’s strong-headed, she’s also going to have good range with the kicks she loves throwing, but she does leave a lot of gaps in her style that I’ve even looking at and working on.

“She’s a little bit taller, but I’ve been training at Super Pro Samui with my mum – she’s about the same height as her. We’ve been working on loads of things like distancing, clinch, elbows, working with the small gloves, so that’s been really beneficial.

“I feel like this is the strongest I’ve ever been mentally. It can go both ways after three years off, but it’s made me want it even more.”

Amber Kitchen Could Spearhead British Storm At ONE On Prime Video I

Amber Kitchen’s curtain-raiser against Diandra Martin will kick off a historic ONE on Prime Video I card, and it could also set the stage for an epic evening of British Muay Thai.

After “AK 47” competes on the lead card, Jonathan Haggerty will return in a ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Grand Prix alternate bout and Liam Harrison will challenge Nong-O Gaiyanghadao for the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title.

And with the likes of Liam Nolan, Jacob Smith, and Iman Barlow also signed to ONE Championship’s Muay Thai roster, Kitchen thinks that a successful night on August 26 could set the stage for a future event in England.

She added:

“I haven’t had a home fight in a long time so to be fighting in London would be a really nice atmosphere to have. I feel like there’s so many people always asking and wishing they could come see me fight, but it’s always so far away now. So if there was a chance to fight in London, that would be amazing for myself and everyone who wants to watch.”
