Hiroba Minowa And Jeremy Miado To Meet In Strawweight MMA Battle At ONE Fight Night 23

A crucial strawweight MMA matchup has been added to the growing ONE Fight Night 23: Buntan vs. Meksen on Prime Video card, which airs live in U.S. primetime on Friday, July 5.

Japanese grappling phenom Hiroba Minowa will take on Filipino knockout artist Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado in a clash of styles at the iconic Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

As the #4-ranked competitor in the bustling strawweight MMA ranks, Minowa knows this is a must-win encounter if he wants to keep his spot among the division’s elite.

The 24-year-old entered ONE with victories over big names in former ONE Strawweight MMA World Champion Alex “Little Rock” Silva and fellow upstart Lito “Thunder Kid” Adiwang, and his opponents have consistently been top-tier stars since then.

Going the distance with former divisional king Jarred “The Monkey God” Brooks, current #2-ranked contender Bokang “Little Giant” Masunyane, and current #3-ranked Gustavo “El Gladiador” Balart, Minowa has proven his talent, but it’s important for him to convert competitiveness into victory.

The STF representative is a strong wrestler and a potent finisher on the canvas – boasting eight career submissions and three ground-and-pound stoppages – and he’ll be aiming to bring Miado into his wheelhouse when they do battle.

Formerly ranked in the strawweight MMA top five, Miado now wants to earn his way back with a key victory over his Japanese rival.

And like Minowa, the Filipino was on a tear until a recent skid derailed his momentum.

The 31-year-old had earned four stoppage wins in a row over the likes of “Mini T” Danial Williams and Adiwang, but his relative weakness on the ground has seen him slump to three consecutive defeats.

However, “The Jaguar” is always a threat from the first bell to the last. All six of his ONE wins have come via KO or TKO, and he’s been working hard to bring the rest of his game forward to match his feared striking.

Both men are dangerous specialists, and with their backs against the wall, they’ll head to Bangkok with more motivation than ever.

This should make for a fiery encounter on the bill headlined by Anissa “C18” Meksen and Jackie Buntan’s fight for the inaugural ONE Women’s Strawweight Kickboxing World Championship.
