ONE Friday Fights 22 was the most star-studded edition yet in the Asia primetime series, and it lived up to the hype on June 23 at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The heavyweight MMA division saw a new era arrive in the main event, as Anatoly Malykhin met Arjan Bhullar in a massive ONE Heavyweight World Championship unification fight.
Malykhin poured on the pressure from the first bell, continuously landing combinations to the head and body. In the third round, he took Bhullar to the mat and unleashed a flurry of unanswered shots from top position to score the TKO and become the undisputed heavyweight king.
The evening’s co-main event saw Prajanchai PK Saenchai make a statement against a familiar foe in Sam-A Gaiyanghadao to claim the ONE Interim Strawweight Muay Thai World Championship.
The pair went the distance last time around, with Prajanchai stripping Sam-A of his divisional gold. This time, the Thai superstar stopped his legendary compatriot with a second-round knockout to set up a unification match with current ONE Strawweight Muay Thai World Champion Joseph Lasiri.
The stacked card also featured exciting victories from Superlek Kiatmoo9, Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong, Seksan Or Kwanmuang, Nico Carrillo, and others.
