Jeremy Miado Claims Emotional Victory Over Peng Xue Wen
Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado had the crowd inside the Mall Of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines on their feet with a superb display of striking.
On Friday, 23 November, the Filipino strawweight star finished Chinese wrestler Peng Xue Wen via second-round TKO on the preliminary card of ONE: CONQUEST OF CHAMPIONS.

Miado started confidently, using his superior reach and slick striking to establish a good rhythm early in the opening round.
The Chinese star’s best hope for victory was to take “The Jaguar” off his feet and onto the canvas, but the Filipino’s control of range proved crucial as he kept the 22-year-old at arm’s length, and sprawled expertly to avoid his rival’s best takedown attempts.
With the bout contested almost exclusively on the feet, Miado excelled. He used smooth combinations and found a regular home for his uppercut on his opponent’s chin.
Peng attempted to stem the tide of strikes from the hometown hero by landing a succession of solid leg kicks, but each time he was countered by a swift combination from “The Jaguar.”
The Filipino striker came out firing in the second round, and he loaded up on his punches in search of a stoppage. A clean right hand dropped Peng to the canvas, but to his credit, the Zhongshan native managed to battle his way back to his feet.
That punch, however, proved to be the beginning of the end, as Miado recognized his opening and moved in for the finish.
A jumping knee and two big hooks from the 25-year-old backed Peng up against the fence, and then the Manila resident connected with another powerful uppercut that dropped the Chinese athlete to the mat.
Miado followed him to the ground with some rapid-fire punches, but referee Yuji Shimada quickly stepped in to stop the contest at the 35-second mark of the second round.
The win was particularly special for Miado, who had lost his father just a few days before this bout and was doubly determined to honor his dad with a memorable performance.
The Filipino strawweight’s impressive TKO victory extended his record to 8-3, as he bounced back into the win column with one of the most impressive performances of his ONE Championship career.
