Chingiz Allazov Stops Samy Sana, Advances To Grand Prix Semifinals

Chingiz Allazov punches Samy Sana

Thirty-nine seconds.

That’s all it took Chingiz “Chinga” Allazov to screw the lid on his ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix quarterfinal matchup against Samy “AK47” Sana at ONE: FIRST STRIKE in the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Friday, 15 October.

Despite Sana saying in pre-bout interviews that he was more determined than ever to win the Grand Prix after being eliminated in the 2019 tournament final, he couldn’t withstand Allazov’s pressure.

At the start of round one, Sana closed the distance and looked to land chopping low kicks on the Belarusian. However, a left body hook and straight right from Allazov slowed down the French-Algerian striker. It also gave Allazov time to think, which benefited him greatly in the next exchange.

Once he found an opening, “Chinga” struck with a left hook and a straight right. The right, however, was used to bait Sana into throwing a counter left hook. When “AK47” did that, Allazov launched a left kick at his opponent, who was then leaning toward the kick and ended up with a foot around his chin and ear.

On impact, Sana’s head went back, but his heart went forward. He put his gloves up and absorbed an eight-punch combination along with a second high kick from Allazov. The kick only grazed the taller striker, but Sana still stumbled backward into the Circle Wall, where he shelled up and withstood more than a dozen additional punches from Allazov.

For all the punishment he took upstairs, it was a stubby left hook into the basement that hurt Sana most.

Allazov’s shovel hook to the liver collapsed “AK47” where he stood. The referee started the eight-count, but Sana never tried to return to his feet.

The victory nudged “Chinga’s” career record to 57-5 (1 NC) and earned him a spot in the semifinals of the biggest kickboxing tournament in the world.
