Roman Kryklia To Defend Heavyweight Muay Thai World Title Against Lyndon Knowles In Main Event Of ONE Fight Night 30
Two colossal strikers are set to collide in the main event of ONE Fight Night 30 on Prime Video, as two-sport, two-weight ONE World Champion Roman Kryklia will defend his ONE Heavyweight Muay Thai World Title against British destroyer Lyndon Knowles.
That clash will go down in U.S. primetime on Friday, April 4, live from the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Ukrainian superstar Kryklia has looked nothing short of dominant throughout his six-fight run in the world’s largest martial arts organization.
After claiming the ONE Light Heavyweight Kickboxing World Title in his promotional debut back in 2019, the towering striker successfully defended the gold two times before entering and winning the ONE Heavyweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix silver belt.
Kryklia then traded in the bigger gloves of kickboxing for the 4-ounce gloves of ONE Muay Thai and scored a devastating second-round knockout against Australian powerhouse Alex Roberts to claim the inaugural ONE Heavyweight Muay Thai World Title.
Now a two-sport titleholder who boasts highlight-reel finishes in all but one of his ONE appearances, the 33-year-old Kryklia hopes to further solidify himself as a pound-for-pound great at ONE Fight Night 30.
Knowles, though, has the skills, power, and experience needed to end Kryklia’s reign of terror in his highly anticipated promotional debut.
As the reigning WBC Heavyweight Muay Thai World Champion, the 38-year-old has long been hailed as one of the United Kingdom’s top Muay Thai talents.
And with nearly 100 professional fights on his resume, he’ll bring a unique veteran savvy that could give Kryklia plenty of problems.
While Knowles has never before competed under ONE’s bright lights, he’s no stranger to the organization. A master tactician and a respected coach, he’s often found in the corner of current ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Champion and global superstar Jonathan Haggerty.
Given his challenger’s impressive credentials, Kryklia can brace for one of the toughest tests of his professional career.
